You might try advertising them on craigslist: http://www.craigslist.org/about/cities.html This is similar to ebay, but arranged by location - this makes it easier because you won't have to worry that much about shipping the tank across country - the people who'll be looking will be the people within driving distance in most cases.

You could also try ebay, but specify that the tank must be picked up by the buyer.

How much and were do you live? I might buy one if your near me and pick it up :]

But encase you live far, and most likely you do.

Some shops do accept aquariums and they will pay you, the only thing is that they don't really pay much since they have to refurnish it, and are afraid of leaks. The biggest problem is giving them the tank, i would imagine a 6ft long tank (i have 2 ones kind of broken) would weigh a lot and taking it might cause it to start leaking if you turn it wrong or something.

NO NO NO glue, you need to use aquarium silicone confirm ITS AQUARIUM GRADE. the extra perfect situation to do is to change the entire pane that's broken no longer basically do a patch activity. Its continually complicated to gage the potential of cracked glass. If any of the cracks are no longer end to end they'll unfold with the load of the water. in any different case, you may basically placed water to interior of an inch or 2 decrease than the destroy - ever. What I do with 2nd hand tanks is replace the entire broken pane, and redo each and all of the seals. It takes a pair of million/2 hour and a $10 tube of silicone in spite of the indisputable fact that it relatively is relatively worth it.
