Cropping of ears are usually done around 8-12 weeks. Costs varies, but usually around $200-$300. You'll have to call vets in your area to find one that does ear cropping & get the costs. PLEASE be sure the vet has lots of experience at this proceedure. Also understand that there is after care of the ears (re-taping for a couple months or more that you will have to do. Good luck!!!

You would need to do it fairly young so that you can train the ear cartilage to stand erect. Varies but about 8-12 weeks old, then you need to tape the ears up correctly for a while as well. Even as long as 6-12 months. It is a big commitment and is quite costly. Here in CA it is approx 600.00. This includes IV meds, anesthesta, post op. Etc. Then after initial posting, you will have to go back to the vet so they can properly post the ears. If done improperly, the crop can look very bad or if the ears do not get blood circulation, the tips could even die.

First, cropping ears has been done for hundreds of years, and if done properly by a veterinarian, there is little risk of excessive pain or infection. Many working dogs suffer extreme injuries to long tails or ears just being house pets- I have seen this first hand, and I think it's a bit more painful for a dog to tear an ear or bloody up his tail just hanging around the house than to crop/dock at a young age and avoid the problem altogether. Also, I'm a groomer, and I see so many horribly painful infected ears in dogs that have long floppy ears, and almost NO infection in dogs with upright ears that get a good air flow. So don't listen to the hyper-activists who will tell you you're a bad person.
Second, a dog's ears should be cropped and trained between 8-12 weeks of age. After 16 weeks there's little hope of getting them to stand up, and the nerves and blood vessels will be too large to safely crop.
I've never had this done, but I'd guess you're looking at a couple hundred bucks from a vet to do it right.

He needs to be from 6 weeks to 12 weeks of age. Most vets no longer do cropping so it is very, very difficult to find one let alone one that does a good job..there is nothing that looks worse then a bad crop job.
Cost depends on vet doing the cropping and area..it can be quite costly. Also you need to be prepared for proper taping that can take months and then there is no guarantee the ears will stand.
I will tell you that there is no truth to the idea that dogs with cropped/erect ears have less ear infections then natural eared dogs...cropped/erect ear dogs get infections just as often as natural ears with the exception of breeds that have a lot of hair in their ears such as Poodles and Spaniels.

I am curious as to why you want the ears clipped as this is an outdated and cruel practise. Even associations that govern purebreds (CKC, AKC) have provisions so owners do not have to crop or dock any of their animals to show them.

I've heard 4-8 weeks and 4-6 months.
I've heard a cost of $175 but that can vary as to where you go.
I would contact your vet to find out for sure.

depends on the vet. some like to do it young (about 10 weeks) and some like to do it when they spay or neuter (6 months) though the hard part would be finding a vet to do it. its already illegal in some states and in other countries and its harder and harder to find a vet that will do a purely cosmetic surgery like that.
