My guinea pig Reese's just started biting the butt of Rocher-my other guinea pig. Rocher is now missing fur. While Reese's was doing this Rocher was not making any noise or trying to run away. I have had them for two and 1/2 years and they have never done anything like this. They have only occasionally mounted each other which I know is a sign of dominance. Reese's just started an antibiotic for a UTI last week... could this be affecting her behavior? I separated them, but am concerned. They have never been separated before. I don't want Rocher to get hurt though and she is already missing a patch of fur. They are both females. Does anyone know why they are doing this and what I should do?

When my dog sleeps he twitches, which I know is normal. But at night when everybody is in bed sleeping he goes to sleep too. But he howls in his sleep. Really loud. I was wondering if that is normal....?

I walk my dogs 3 miles a day and they play when he decides to get up. Do dogs live in the moment or do you believe he misses his last owner? He never walked or took rides much at the last house and I keep them pretty active. The change in routine may also be a reason for his tiredness. What do you think?

My dog is CRAZY. She's a golden retriever, so she's super friendly, but when she sees a rabbit, she goes nuts! We have a choke collar on her. I love animals, so I'm so afraid that it's going to damage her neck! So I never pull to hard. We had a normal collar on her, but she always wiggles out of it and runs away! I want to know, can choke collars do damage to a dog's neck?

I suspected that one has mange because the hair on it's head or face area is thinning quite a Bit!
but the Other mouse i have hugs all over it all the time and they sleep together, but she doesn't have it.
The one with the thinning hair usually sleeps on the bottom of the other, does that mean he may be grooming the other one too much?

and if it was mange wouldn't it have Spread by now? to the other mouse?

just got 2 kittens and my 1 1/2 yr old spayed female isn't dealing so well, can't relax/ is very afraid whenever they're around. we had an older cat when we got her and they got along within a 3 days. this doesn't seem to be so this time. i have them seperated and allow the kittens out into the house for about 15 min every few hours. they make their way to her sight and she growls and will either give them a few good swats until their on their backs cowarding or she'll run away. when and how will i know if it's not going to work out?? i know the chances are slim but i don't want to go on with my older cat in complete distress for too long, if it's not going to work out.

My red tailed shark died this afternoon, and I think it's because of my dwarf gourami pestering it. It had the symptoms of fin rot (not eating, laying at the bottom of the tank, getting picked on). I do not want the gourami anymore. He is way too aggressive towards my three barbs, and I do not want it to happen again. I don't know what to do with the gourami though. Any ideas?

I would like to say that this kitten and I have come a long way. I found him in an abandoned building. When I found him, I say he was only 1 week old, if that old. When I called the SPCA, they said that the only thing they could do was put him to sleep. Saddened by the thought of that, I feel that I had no choice but to take him in and raise him on my own. And I raised him successfully. He is two months old now, and I've noticed that his nose is always dry. I'm sure that this is unhealthy. And today, his paws are extremely hot. What I want to ask is what exactly is the problem here, and how do I solve it? I currently don't have the finances to take him to a vet, so please don't suggest that. And please, all serious answers. Thank you all for any help you can provide.

I have a minpin that is about 9 inches high (sorry, I'm not quite sure how much she weighs). She is due to have puppies in a few weeks. I know I need to get her used to her whelping box soon. But I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what to use.

And PLEASE don't say, "You need to spay your dog." I know you all have your opinions about the dog population, and I don't even necessarily disagree with them, but please, don't tell me what to do. I'm a big girl and I can make my own decisions.

I adopted this stray, outside cat about 3 months ago, and she got pregnant. A few weeks ago, this black female cat started hanging around (we tried to get rid of it 2xs, but it keeps coming back) and our pregnant cat didn't really like it. Right before she had her kittens, they were "friends". The black cat keeps coming by my cat's litter, and I'm not sure if it will hurt them. Please help me, and btw, both cats are outside.

My father has a 10 gallon fish aqaurim. He wants to know if it really matters to have the fish light on or off in the night time. Fishes don't have eyelids, so does it really matter? I think that the temperature of the light will make the water warmer, but what do you think? On or off?

My puppy is four months old. She is shedding quite a bit! I brought her home 3 weeks ago. The breeder had been feeding her Pedigree Puppy food. After some research, I switched her to Wellness Puppy Super 5 Mix. She eats approximately 3/4 cup daily. There is almost always 1/4 cup left at the end of the evening. I bathed her very well, using a recommended puppy shampoo. She is brushed thoroughly daily. However, she still sheds regularly. Is this typical of this breed? Please provide any suggestions, information, etc. if you are familiar with the CKCS breed.
Also, please give your opinion on the following recommendations: Nutro Puppy Food; Zoom Groom Brush; Furminator Comb; Rubber Curry; Fish, Salmon or Cod Liver Oil; LoShed Spray.
Thank you for your input.

I have a 41 pound Labrador retriever mix. Lately he has been pretty gassy, and the stench is so horrible I have to look around to make sure he didn't poop on the floor!

Since we rescued him over two years ago hes been on Nutro brand foods with no problems. We feed him one greenie and a chicken jerky treat that he's never had this issue with before.

Any ideas?
