My four month old puppy has just started not eating properly, he's otherwise helathy and playful, the vet just had to empty his anal glands but that's it, he's been wormed and so on regularly. I feed him on Hills complete food, which I have done from the beginning, he used to wolf it down, now he's not interested. I've tried varying the flavours of the Hills, mixing in some cooked chicken and adding gravy. He will pick at it eventually if I leave it long enough, I know you're not supposed to leave it down but I worry about him not eating. Sometimes I even hand feed it to him! anyone any ideas??

With all the Pitbulls attacks that have hit the news media, how do we know what the reports really mean? Here is a test to see if you can pick out the APBT that was the cause of the attack. i posted a pic on my 360 account its the only pic on there. I am refering to that bubbley stuff growing off the live rock. Can someone identify this? i searched wetwebmedia and i cant really tell between some of the bubble coral and bubble algae. i even found some leathers that looks kinda like this. So if anyone has any idea, id love to know whats growing in my tank.

About 4 days ago, I set up a new aquarium. I used new gravel, new (fake) plants, and new ornaments. The heater, lights & filter are also all new. I used a water conditioner as per the instructions, but no other chemicals/salt in it at all. The next day, I placed my male Betta in there. He's doing fine, but now the tank really smells awful. The smell has wafted through the whole house, and almost smells like rotting vegetable matter mixed with sour milk. The water was slightly cloudy yesterday, but is clear today. I've not fed the fish too much - he has eaten everything I've put in there. The tank is a 10 gallon (40 litre) tank. My fish was previously in a much smaller tank, and had only one ornament in it and no gravel. It never smelled at all. Any ideas from anyone fish-savvy?

... if I leave my dog at home in the back garden, where she can run around and has everything she needs, or take her with me and leave her in the car, which means she will see more of me while we're out? She is very good when left in the car and doesn't do anything she shouldn't, but obviously it's a confined space and very boring for her while I'm in the shop. Tying her up outside the shops isn't an option as she goes ape (she's just a puppy) and I'm afraid she would get stolen. I'm looking for a straight "garden" or "car" vote, but the best reason will win 10 points. Thanks, I do value your opinions!

it is just that they know someone is saying something or making a noise and they understand the tone of it, or do they actually end up knowing that if the specific name is called that its for them
and also i sorta want a professional or a dog psychologist (if they exist) to answer this, not just any random persons opinion

I went to this website http://www.mrwinkle.com/ and I looked at the dog. Yes, it is a cute dog, but I do not consider it to be the cutest dog in the universe.

I have my very own dog that is a Pekingnese, and I consider my own dog to be the cutest dog in the universe. My dog is much cuter than Mr. Winkle.

I have one of those filters that sucks up water and runs it through Bio balls and some black charcoal things (probably cabon, not sure) and some foam. Last time I cleaned my tank, I noticed the black charcoal had reduced in size so my filter is probably not as effective as it could be.

What exactly is this back stuff, so i know what to ask for at the store and should I replace the foam and balls as well? Should I replace them all together or would that get rid of all my benificial bacteria?

Is there anything else I should know when replacing my filter?

I have been doing water changes once a week in my 24 gallon tank. I do 4 gallon changes every time. Any ways, my algea keeps getting worse! And i even have 2 turbo snails! Now its on my glass and its green and i CAN'T take it off! i even scrub it with my nails! Its starting to get hard looking in my tank! Please help! Thank you so much!

This is a strange behavior that has been going on for quite some time now. Whenever my cat is really content, like he's being pet and whatnot, he would get right up to my face, and nibble at my chin, and if I let him keep doing it, he will actually bite down fairly hard. And it's not only on my chin either, it's really on any place that protrudes, may it be my nose, finger, etc., but the chin seems to be his favorite place. He is not AT ALL aggressive when this happens, and like I said, he only displays this behavior when he is content, and getting pet. It's not an aggravated action at all. The only solution I came up with is that it's kind of instinct from when he was nursing, because when he's this content, he's generally kneading, drooling, and all that cat stuff. Is this theory actually possible? Is he biting down because it's instinctive from his birth, just like kneading and drooling is? Or can it be something else? Tips and advice appreciated!

My dog has a kidney infection & she needs to be put on a diet that has low amounts of protein in high quality.
Do you know of a dog food that I could give to her that would fulfill these requirements?
My vet has prescription dog foods, but they're really expensive and she suggested that I look around for something cheaper.

My Mom's cat of 10 years pees on everything in the house. The whole has is saturated and really stinks.(luckily I don't live there) My Mom has tried putting the cat on anti-depressants per the vets instructions but the cat will literally keep the pill in her mouth and not swallow it. My sister and I have tried to get my mom to keep the cat in the basement with the door shut, litterbox food etc so she learns where to pee and that it is not ok to pee all over the house. But my mom always caves in to the cat's crying and lets her back intoe the rest of the house after an hour. This has gone on for years, the cat has no discipline. To make matters worse, besides her problem, she just is not a very nice cat, she bites, hisses, claws at people who are not my Mom. My mom wants to put her house on the market, but in its current state peope will wlak rigth out bc of the smell. Anything that has worked for really poorly behaved kitties besides euthanization? She has no medical problems.

My mom would like to fly with her 25lb German Spitz, but only in the cabin -- not as checked baggage.

I looked online, and airlines require the dogs be in kennels with a max size of 8.5” high x 17” long x 12” wide. This seems incredibly tiny!

Has anyone traveled with a dog recently that can give some advice?
