It would depend somewhat on the age/size of the fish. Generally the larger they are, the longer they can go.

For one about 6-7 inches, I'd say a week easily as long as they have been fed on a regular basis beforehand and are in good health.

If you're asking because you're going away and have one in a tank, you can make a sort of "automatic feeder" by taking a piece of PVC as wide (smaller dimension) as your tank, drilling a few holes in it, and putting caps on the ends. Put some bedding inside, plus some worms or mealworms, and a little food for them and suspend this over the tank. As the food runs out and the critters inside get curious, they'll leave through the holes and fall into the water.

when they get older they big up a good supply of fat but when young there's really none there so:
under 6" i say... 3-4 days
over 6"...... 1-2 weeks
(depending on usual feeding schedule.)
