I have a 13 year old border collie and by accident 3 weeks ago I bought and gave him puppy food. However I found that he seems to have a lot more energy now and he seems happier.
He is also on a form of 'Beta-Blockers' because he is quite old and has a heart murmur.

Is it safe for me to continue to give him puppy food?

One of our male dogs keeps trying to mate with one of our other male dogs. The dog that he tries to mate with has been neutered. Could that have something to do with it? The dog that keeps trying will not let the other dog out of his sight. He follows him where ever he goes. He lays down right by him and if he so much as moves just an inch he picks up his head to look back at him as though he is making sure he isn't about to get up.

Well, when i was about 4 my neighbors dog jumped on me and busted my lip. I guess you could cal it a mini-attack. But ever since then i have been terrified of dogs, large or small. Although there is a couple i have met that are very friendly.

But i need a way I can get over that fear with out going a therapist or anything. I could probly go to my school conselor though.

Anyway I need a simpler thing to do.

One is dying to get out lately, he even knows how to open the screen window by himself. I don't know what to do about that, and yes, they are all fixed!!

somebody i know gave me 4 small kittens that he found in his backyard to take care of. I have no experienceb but to me they seem to be 2 or 3 weeks. I went to nearby pet store and bought feeding bottle and milk. After one week on only milk, I thought they might need additional food supply, and their milk is so expensive. i bought soft food can from walmart written on in for kittens and cats. But my kittens didn't accept it. i thought i might need to smash it, and i did together with milk in the blender. They like it, but i have to give it to them with the bottle. I just enlarge its hole. Now i got tired of them. Too much work to feed them with feeding bottle around 5 or 6 times a day. How to let them leave the bottle and eat from their own bowl, as this will be much easier for me than feed one by one and the other 3 cried for food waiting for their turn. I tried with them, but they didn't accept and kept meow for food through the feeing bottle. Please advice! and help me! PLEASE

In the past my pets have had flees but nothing serious. This summer howvever is different. For the first time my house is infested. The carpets the garage and all over. I've bathed the dogs w/ flea killer, used flea collars, and carpet powders, and iv'e sprinkled salt before I vacum. I've even washed all types of clothes and fabrics in my house with hot water but the fleas seem to be invincible. I think it's because I live near a horse community and my neighbors have farm animals. Please, does anybody have any advise for my situation.I'll take any drastic advice.

Does anyone know what illness causes red lines in the fins, almost like veins? See my question about red lines for more details-- but I dont want these guys to die! I dont recall seeing these before I moved them to a new tank so I want to make sure I am treating this right. One had obvious red on the tail fins, almost like it was bleeding, so it's not just veins showing. thanks for any tips!!!

My youngest son is besotted with fish, but I have never kept a fishtank before. I have bought, and setup, a fifty litre tank with an undergravel filter, light and a castle, treasure chest etc to make it look interesting. It came with a heater, but I would rather use cold water fish since I live in Johannesburg, South Africa, and power outages are not uncommon (so I have oxygen tablets to complement the air pump).

Could people please give me recommendations on good fish breeds to use that are relatively hardy, and what else I need in the tank in terms of plants and complentary species. Any advice on keeping the tank running and the fish alive would be much appreciated. Thanks

I thought I was careful when I transferred my goldies to a bigger tank. I moved this group from my 28 to my 50 gallon. The water was good quality according to my test, and I took most of the 28 gallon water, plus that filter, and used it on the new tank. However, one of my goldies has these red lines on its fins like little veins. I thought thsi might be septocimia.. I cant remember hte name, and I have been giving maraycin two, but I dont yet see a big improvement. Any other ideas? They are real light red veins you have to look close to see only on the white parts of the fin, and otherwise the fishie is swimming around with its fins all up and acting fairly normal. Thanks for any advice!

My kitten is 6 weeks old and she is very playful but she is constantly attacking/scratching and biting my legs and feet. During the night when I try to sleep she is clawing at my face and biting my face and body as well. I know this is normal because she is a kitten, but is there any way to curb the biting and scratching? Someone told me to get a spray bottle and put water in it and each time she bit me I should spray her with it, but I feel mean doing that. What do y'all recommend? I am taking her to the vet tomorrow for just a normal checkup. Thanks!!! :)

We have a 3 1/2 mth old puppy who has started to chew on the power cords under my desk. In the past 2 nights she has chewed through the power cord for my VoIP phone, my mobile charger and the charger for my laptop. We bought a "stop chew" spray that does taste bitter (I tested) however when we sprayed it on a peg and gave it to her she the taste didn't seem to bother her. She has plenty of chew toys and other things to chew on.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what we can spray/wipe on the cables that might deter her from chewing on them?

Or will my rabbit get too cold? It's the only way I can think of to keep my rabbit outside of the house and safe from dogs/cats while I'm away from the house. I'd take it inside when I am at home but otherwise the balcony from the dining room seems a good option...

I heard as long as you use a smaller dose it doesn't matter whether it is for dogs or cats. Also I was told they only need a drop or two to protect them.

Hi, I have a 20 litre tank with undergravel filter that I just installed. The tank has a curved front so I had to cut the undergravel filter to shape. There is about 5cm of gravel on it. When I initially connect the air pump, bubbles escape from the tube but after a while, the bubbles decrease and eventually stop. When I release the air tube from the air pump, I get a air pressure sound and water rushes out from the air tube to the water level. I find it really hard to even blow into the air tube. The air pump is always kept above water level. What's wrong with my setup?

I have asked so many questions lately, but I hate having pets die, and I am trying to avoid it happening again.
As many of you know I have a 1 and a half gallon tank with a heater, thermometer, live plant, and an apple snail. I plan on getting 2 new african dwarf frogs. The heater is made for small tanks and is set to around 78 degrees. The thermometer reads 80 degrees. The snail seems fine but will 2 extra degrees be too warm for the frogs? The water has dechlorinator in it already. When I get the frogs I am also getting a small filter made for mini tanks.

Any info you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I have basically no experience with aquariums or filters so I am so confused!
