Java Fern is the best for brackish water. If you' ve had trouble growing aquatic plants, you can probably grow Java Fern. Add to this a beautiful medium to dark green color with forms ranging from bushy to leafy spikes and you have what experts call a "beautiful" and "decorative" aquarium plant .

Java Moss also enjoys the brackish water

:-)

In a truly brackish tank(fluctuating salinity and specific gravity), Mangrove seeds can be collected or purchased and will grow in an open-topped tank to create a really dramatic brackish environment,(authentic too).
Shallow water and a "drag-out"area of sand(a beach of sorts) with Mud-skippers could be a possibility and the Mangrove Roots would make it very true to life.

I think the best would be the first ones that are listed. If you put all of them together, they will almost have the perfect aquarium.
