Pour hot water over his kibble and feed it when its cooled enough to still be warm. If he won't eat it soft and warm, You can stir a little scrabbled egg in or a bit of what ever meat you are eating.

Take the dog out and exercise him. A hungry dog will eat almost anything. Take him out for a good long walk everyday.

Maybe the dog is just too excited to eat. The dog is smelling all kind of new things. It needs to get out and explore.

Dry food is great, it does help keep the teeth clean and despite what some idiots think it is made of meat. Make sure the first ingredient on the ingredient list is a whole meat and not a byproduct.

If I had a large dog I probably would feed it a mix of dry and wet food.

NOW GO EXERCISE THE DOG!

I doubt he'll starve himself. But some dogs don't eat well away from home. If you can get some canned food for him, add that to the dry or feed canned alone if that's all he'll eat.

If you need to add human food to get him to eat, try to mix it into his kibble so he can't just eat that.

For 7 days he'll be fine as long as he eats something.

When I travel I sometimes by canned cat food and add a spoonful to hot water and pour that over the dry food to get picky Whippets to eat.

Avoid dairy it can upset his stomach. Hamburger raw or cooked is fine.

I had a dog go off food for 3 days at the handler's house, by the 3rd day it was like he was done grieving for me and started eating. The next visit he skipped one day and went back to eating.

I try not to give a dog too much human food as it can be difficult to get them back on their food. Don't panic, the dog should be fine. Mine often skip a day if it's hot or they are stressed. Unless the dog is acting sick, he should be ok.

Dry food is the worst option a dog can have. Would you like to eat dry buiscuits every single day? Dogs are omnivores, like wolves, dry food is a recent invention of dog food industry, invented for lazy pet owners. Give the dog human food...with lots of sauce and veggies and bread. Soup or any watery meal. And if you get near a pet store, buy the dog some cans with dog food, not the dry one.

Have you been feeding him human food lately?

Because human food is way more tasty than dog food, your dog will naturally eat the human food and stay away from the dog food.

He's trying to tell you that he prefers human food.(althou unhealthy it is for it)

If you're trying to migrate him back to dog food, you might have to slowly re-introduce it again by giving it half dog food, half human food and so on....until eventually its all dog food.

....so careful when giving it all kinds of food.

Well, I am known for spoiling animals, so I would just give him the human food he wants. I think it is OK to spoil him now under unusual circumstances, and you can be persistent giving him his food when you go back home.
