take her temp. rectally and if it's under 99 she is starting labor. If it isn't call your vet to find out what he says.
As many have said chis are known for needing c-sections.
Some dogs will look sad when they are carrying it is a load on their little bodies.
Just a few questions if you don't mind
Was this a planned breedeing?
Do you know the background of the male if there is big in teh backgrund the pups may be to big for her to delive herself??
The male should be the same size or smaller or you might have problems.
How long ago was she bred they usually carry fro 63 days??
Did you have x-rays or sonogram done to see howmany there are.
You may want to consider getting a x-ray to see the position and size of the pups to see if possible help will be needed.
Good Luck

What day is she on in her pregnancy? She could be going into labour if she is around 63 days. If not you need to get her to a vet to be checked out.
If she is going into labour be sure not to leave her alone. Chihuahua's often need c-sections. I have a foster Chi here that had to have a c-section a week ago. Had I not of been around she may not have made it and the pups certainly would not. As it is I have a healthy mom and 4 lovely healthy babies.
As soon as you know for sure she is in labour call your vet. He needs to be aware in case an emergency c-section is required.

She is going to be really lazy, and want a lot of comfort. The same thing happend to my dog. Whenever I would sit down, she would sit down right next to me, or in here little area and just have that look on her face like she lost her best friend...she would also follow my every move. Everywhere I went, she was never too far behind me. She is just feeling the pain from the pregnancy. When she starts to pant a lot..then she is basically ready to deliver.

Beware - chihuahuas often need Caesarean sections - I hope you have enough money or a really good relationship with your vet! Better take your pet to the vet anyway if you are worried about her.

Sounds like labor will be coming on soon- be ready to run to the vets! You should call them and tell them this is happening, so they know you may be coming in. Good luck.
