I was thinking of like tiger barbs or a crown tail splenden betta with some neon tetras. also guppies , i want a sweet tank that would have hardy fish

I am getting a new lab – he’s 5 weeks now. I have trained a few of my dogs in the past with easy things like shake, play dead, heal, roll-over, etc. With the lab, I would like to train him to be a gun dog for hunting. What is a good way to train him for reacting to gun fire? Is there a test other than shooting around him to get him used to it? Is there a good book to recommend? Thanks!

Hi, my fish are a black moore and a gold fantail, and the fantail was "dead" in the tank this morning. It is alive now, and recently had a very long fece that took a little while to remove, and kept growing for a little while. The black moore seems fine. The fece was long and thin I believe. What is going wrong? Thank you for your time!

I have a 16 month old Puggle who I recently started letting outside to run off some of her energy (she has a TON) and she keeps digging holes under my fence to get out. I wanted her to have freedom to an extent, insteand of being cooped up in a kennel while I am at work, but I can't trust her to STAY in the backyard. And she tears up anything she gets a hold of when she DOES happen to stay in the yard. Lawnmower seat, GONE! Screendoor on the back porch, GONE! I'm going to have to get rid of her if I can't find a solution to keeping her where she's supposed to be.

For many yrs they have been proven to not really do anything to insure the dogs listed with them are real....so why bother?

Europe has some really good ideas and practices to insure dogs are real and to insure quality....why aren't we doing the same?

Consider this: Most breeders are breeding a good looking dog to another good looking dog and praying they get one good looking puppy...is that what you want?

Should we insist on better breeding practices like Europe where litter sizes are limited and a selection committee picks the dogs who can breed and then selects the pups who get papers?

I have a 3yr old dutch rabbit and has been innoculted every year. He's been lying down all day and i though nothing of it. When i went to pick him up to give him a love he was alright, as soon as i put him down he ran but fell over and keeps doing it. He also keeps shaking.

Last week a ferret killed my 7mth old rex rabbit and my 2 young guinea pigs even though they were in a pen. Do you think someone may have poisoned my rabbit or is he just ill.

We've had him for 5 days. He walks around meowing all day!!

I'm moving from an apartment to a house, with one small indoor dog. He gets treated every month for fleas and heartworm, but is only outside for a small part of the day. I imagine he'll be outside more often with a yard to run around in. Do I need to treat the yard for fleas, or his personal treatment enough?

I found a great deal on a horse that I really want to lease for july/august. It only $100 a month ($200 total) and my dad said i have to come up with half the cost im order to lease it. I can work off $40 by cleaning stalls. I have $12 in wallet (I recently spent all my money buying a saddle) but I am $48 short. It seems like my new 7 month old puppy is constantly sleeping, is this ok or something unusual? Also, because it is always sleeping, it seems as if I can never train it to come, sit, stay or anything because it never hears me talking when it is sleeping. Well I think I have almost decided on a name for my new pup. I like the name "Annie" because she was an orphan when I found her like Orphan Annie, but I want a long name with the short term "Annie". I've thought of a few, such as LeAnn, Annabelle, Shyann... etc... but I want it to be something that fits her perfectly. Any suggestions??? Here's a link to her pic if it helps...

I have a 10 gallon aquarium, with 2 fancy guppies, 3 neon glofish, and 2 tetras. The tetras keep dying off, I had 5, so I don't expect them to live long. What other fish would be compatible with the guppies and glofish? Can I get multiple kinds of guppies, will they be ok? I just wanted some ideas to liven up my tank a bit.

Also, my tetras may be dying because of the condition of the tank. The PH and amonia is high. But I have stuff for that that I add to the tank to reduce both!! However, it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas on that as well? Thanks!

This is kind of a 2-in-one question...

One of my gouramis has bitten half of the other gourami's feeler off. Will that grow back okay, or will it stay short? It was a result of a fem/fem conflict, which is resolved now. (My tiny male is in heaven!)

Will the fins of a Betta grow back to it's original beauty? I've got 3 Betta-Girls in my 55 gallon tank, and they get along okay, but my bigbully male Gourami tore up their fins horribly. (He's gone, don't worry!) One of my Betta Girls had a "broken" tail (folded over) when I bought her months ago, but now it's split badly because of him. And one of the baby Betta Girls I've got is missing about half of her tailfin... I'm hoping they heal up fine...

What do you think?
And don't tell me I was stupid for putting gouramis and multiple female bettas together... I did my research, and tried several combinations to get to this point. My tank is happy now - now that the male gourami is gone!
