My dog is almost 4 years old and I've had her since she was 1. I just graduated from high school this past May and in August I'm moving to a much bigger city. The apartment I will have allows dogs, but now I have to decide whether or not I'm going to take her. I want to, but would it be hard on her?

She is, ultimately, my dog. I'm the one who bathes her, feeds her and walks her. My mother says that when I am out late, she will not go to sleep and waits by the door until I'm home. She is very attached to me and I to her. So, I would really like to take her.

Right now, I live in a rural area. She is an inside dog, but if she does get loose I am not afraid of her being hit by a car. I also do not know the rules about having a dog in the city. Where do you walk them? Dog parks? Or, like here, is anywhere fine? Is there a specific place that she will be allowed to do her "business"? The biggest city I've ever been to was Nashville, TN and I was 9 at the time...so, please excuse my ignorance.

I'm moving 15 hours from home and would really like to have a familiar face around (even if it is a dogs). So, how hard is moving to a different environment for dogs and how could I make it easier on her?

I have a year old cat and have had an old friend move in with two 10-year-old cats. They are in the spare bedroom & it has been about a 1 1/2 weeks. My cat didn't like it and would even attack the owner of the two cats. He seems to have lessoned the number of "attacks" on her and seems to have started to "talk" to the other cats through the door. He has cat herpes which is a respiratory thing for cats. It is contagious to other cats. Vet says that 98% of cats have it, just don't show symptoms like my cat. He sneezes and gets one runny eye and a respiratory infection. She is fully aware of this and the vet says their immune systems should be up enough to be ok. My cat has kidney problems from the bad food, but is doing better. Vet says that is why he is more apt to show symptoms. He also has or has had heart worms which are not spreadable. Question is: How should we finally introduce them. Book says to bring stuff in with their smell and leave it around the house.

So, I just got two goldfish today and completely changed the water in the fish tank, and I just found out that you're not supposed to completely change the water. The water I also put was from the tap, and did not sit out. What do I do so that the fish don't die? And what kind of water am I supposed to change the fish water with, also do I change half of it?

The pet store says, take him out every day until he gets used to you, and other people on here say, if it runs away from you, let it be. When I pick him up i can not, and when I say I cant, I REALLY CANT get him to stop moving. People also say pet it and stuff, well I cant because he is running like crazy. How do i make him so he feels safe (I already tried treats). Its been a week, and it has been the same since day one, and I gave him plenty of time to get settled in his new cage, about a week until I tried picking him up. Will this ever change, or should I get one like my old one ( It would lay in your hand even on the first day) to replace this thing. I know i sound a bit mean, but this thing is a pest.

Last week I deflead my cat with frontline, and then he's been at my mum's house while i've been on holiday for a week. Just got back, (cat is still away from home) and found that the floor of my flat is covered in live fleas. To say that I am distubed and purturbed is an understatement. I have laminate wooden flooring. What the hell have they been living on for the last week?? And more importantly, how do I get rid of them?? I 've been getting them with a sticky clothes roller thing, but I keep finding more and keep finding them on me, which is completely freaking me out! Help!

We just got rid of a cat only to find out it had left behind 3 kittens and I had decided to keep one,I did not think they had any fleas because I looked fairly well on them. I have a BAD flea phobia due to bad cases in the past but decided to try one of the kittens inside anyways, I gave him a bath and put Advantage on him lastnight (he is about 8-9 weeks old). But as I was holding him I saw a flea and threw him outside right away which means he had contact with the other two kittens for the whole night. Then I read that it takes 24-48 hours for the Advantage to work so I brought him back inside and put him in the bathroom today, I was just wanting to know if even tho I put him back outside with the others for the night if the Advantage will still work and kill ALL of the fleas and flea eggs. Considering I have carpet it is a lot harder to get rid of the fleas if there is an outbreak.

My puppy is scratching like crazy and I picked through her several times and got every tick I saw...but I want to put some spray on her for some semi-immediate relief...I know the two medications shouldn't be used together, so how long after I spray her can I give her the Frontline preventative?
