When you're trying to get rid of fleas, you ALWAYS need to treat the environment too.
The fleas that are currently on your laminate flooring are the result of all the fleas eggs that dropped off your cat. They have now hatched.
Get a spray from your vets to treat your house with, and continue to Frontline your cat monthly - do also make sure you're getting it on the skin, not the fur.
You'll need to spray your home a couple of times. Most house sprays (and animal treatments) do not kill flea eggs or pupae, so you need to respray once any remaining eggs have hatched. Once you've done this, I suggest you switch to Frontline Plus - it kills the flea eggs so you don't have to keep treating your home. You also only need to use it every 6 weeks instead of monthly.

EDIT: It is OK to bring your cat home, because he's covered by Frontline - any fleas that jump on him will die. In fact, this will also help the environment a little because your cat is basically now a walking flea-killer!

The well being nutrition shop often has some good organic shampoos and coverings for fleas that are non stressful. My famous approach is least stressful and could be relaxing to your canines because it will supply him fairly some your undivided interest: %. the fleas off with the aid of hand and drown them in a bowl of water with some drops of dish cleansing soap in it. Our canines might line up for this medical care in the event that they have been given fleas. there is tiny combs on the puppy shop to help with this..very low fee and could be fairly sensible.

Don't bring the cat home yet. Get a flea-bomb from your hardware store and then seal it in the room for the required time. You can also use a flea-spray on all the corners and edges of your room.
You should leave your clothes in the room you 'bomb'. Oh, and there a a herb called 'fleabane' -- you could get some and hang it arouind your room!
Fleas are a nuisance -- but not the end of the world. Eternal vigilance!

(if U.K.) Go to a Pets At Home they are normally good for flea sprays. Normally 1 big can is big enough to do a 2/3 bed house so should be plenty for a flat. Spray it around the edge of every room, leave for 24 hours then vacuum every (if pos).
The Frontline is just one of 2 treatments! You need to do both regularly to get rid of them.
Hope this helps.

Whenever I apply de-flea treatment to my cats, I make sure that the soft furnishings and flooring and anywhere where the cats has access to, gets treated as well. Pets at Home do a wide variety of household flea treatments. and |I have found the smoke bomb to be very effective. If the infestation doesn't respond to this, you could try contacting your local councils environmental health team, they could advise alternative measures, or apply 'industrial' strength flea killer themselves (my grandmother had to have this done), you generally have to pay for this treatment though.

ages ago i had the same problem which is why i now dont allow cats in my house.
flea eggs can be laid dormant in the furniture, cracks in flooring etc and can be dormant for a very long time but heat will cause them to hatch out. the adults live on blood but the larve live on things like dead skin cells that we shed daily.
i had to wash all the cushions/ curtains etc on a very hot wash which killed the eggs and fleas that was there as well. i found that no product designed to kill fleas in carpets worked but i hoovered daily the whole room which caught all the live and larve in the bag and had a flea killer power in the bag. i suggest you change the bag regular but it worked for me, and kept the house clean as well

wow what a shocker to see all those buggers,,go to the hardware store and get 2 bombs for fleas and let them off, wash any clothes that were in the area and if your cat is not home yet 'wait till you get rid of the fleas,,the next day vacuum all the dead fleas and then bring your baby back home so she won;t get them all over again..I though they had to have hair or carpets to live and blood to eat; but i guess not as you have wood floors and no persons or pets have been there to get bit,,,good luck with all the little buggers,

They will lay eggs in any crevises, like gaps between laminate flooring, and in rugs, sofas etc. This site sells a household flea spray which the vets sell called Acclaim, but cheaper than you would find it at the vets. It works really well.

I have carpet so I'm not sure if it would work, but I used equal parts borax detergent and salt after vacuuming. Also I keep moth balls in vacuum.
Then I cut lemons in quarters and boiled them. Let them cool and drained into a spray bottle. After bathing my Dog I squirted him down with the lemon spay and rubbed it into his fur. Also sprayed the house.
Also I feed him minced garlic with his food. Fleas don't like it. I have also heard the feeding them Apple Cider Vinegar also repels them (not too much don't want them sick)

use zodiac it kills lavae and the adults. if that is not suitable dilute 1 part vinegar to 4parts scolding hot water this will kill them. it doesn't smell nice tho. you could by a flea fogger like 4flea fogger these also work extremely well.
edit don't bother with herbal remedies for this problem flea bane doesn't work. to keep them at bay give your cat 1 teaspoon of brewers yeast fleas don't like the taste of it.and don't bring your cat home yet till the problem is sorted.
