he's just a puppy, and when he walks his butt kind of goes out to the side, is that normal?

Probably. They don't walk exactly straight. You can ask your vet at his puppy shot appt.

Very possibly not. Have the puppy checked by a vet if you haven't already done so - new puppies should always be checked to see if they are 'sound' (i.e of good health and good conformation). It is possible the dog may have some kind of skeletal abnormality - it may not be a problem, but it's certainly worth checking out. If he's a lab of german shepherd he's more likely to have a condition called hip dysplasia.

Depends on what kind of dog he is. It is pretty normal for most puppies, they are way out of proportion and cant hardly figure out how to use their own feet. If you think it is something that is really extreme and you havent had a vet check I would take him in just to get a good once over...it will make you feel better.

totally normal, his bones are still growing and so he walks sideways it looks like. Some dogs do this all their lives. Look at the food your feeding him, are his bones growing too fast for the rest of him to keep up? I wouldnt worry about it just monitor it as he grows up.

since you didntmention what kind of dog the only real answer
is its to be expected because he isnt grown ..beyond that atsome point when you were child you had doofy stages your parents took you to the doctor regularly to be sure you didn't have illness or disease or birth defects , your puppy also needs his checkups shots and routine care..

It is normal. His bones aren't quite fused the way they should be yet so he'll have kind of a roll.

Have the dog examined by a vet

They can determine if there is a problem, and what to do
