I know this family who has a puppy and his leg is weird. His left one is uneven from his right one, so he limps and stuff. They havent taken him to a vet since they got him (1 yr ago). He needs to go to a vet and get his leg fixed and they wont take him. I am so worried for him, the poor thing cant even walk good, he limps. Im not sure if it is animal cruelty, but if it is I wanna report it. Thanks

i have some small snails in my aquarium, i think they were brought in in the plants i bought recently, i have removed some of them because i know they can multiply like crazy and the fewer the better but do i need to get rid of them completely? do they have any purpose?

Most namely, I'm talking about situations such as: "HELP!! My cat just vomited blood and passed out on the living room floor! Whatdoidowhatdoidowhatdoidowhatdoido?!?!?!?!?"
Or, "My dog is in labor! PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO!"
Or, "My cat drank 2 bottles of cyanide. Will she die??"

Every time I see questions like these, I can't help but wonder: "Why are you on the computer and not at a vet?" Or, "Why can't you pick up the phone and call a vet? They can help a lot better than we Y!A users can."
Rather cynical, I know, but it's the truth.

And even for experienced vet technicans, it's hard to diagnose the pet's illness/condition/problem just by a brief online description.

*sigh* Why do some people go straight to Y!A for emergency help on their pets instead of going to a vet?? (Yes, I know, some people cannot afford a vet appointment, but if that's the case, then why not call the vet's office for advice?)

I have 4 male guppies and 8 female guppies. 4 of the females are pregnant...so I seperated them and put them in their own tank with this fake "baby grass" at the bottom of the tank...it covers about 75% of the bottom of the aquarium. All 4 of them are pretty big and have very noticable, dark, gravid spots. Is there a good chance that most of the babies will survive? And should I move each female and put it back into the other guppy aquarium after it has the babies?

My cat is about 17 years old. Her skin turned yellowish, she wouldn't eat, and she was lethargic. At the vet they gave her fluid theapy and medicine. Vet says she probably has liver disease. Now she's at a medical facility and they say yes, the enzime count of her liver is high and that she has a tender stomach. They will do an xray to check for masses. If there are no masses, she still will have liver problems (the treatment is for the cat to eat, but she hasn't been eating much and she has throw up a lot/can't keep enough down) but if there are masses then they would have to do surgery to take them out in addition to other stuff. The specialist vet says it will cost 5000-7000 to get her well enough to bring home - but that they can't promise she will be the way she was, guarded at best. I love my cat and don't want her to suffer. I want to do right by her and give her a chance at more life. Any advice? Please help. I LOVE my cat and have been crying for days. Took sick leave from wrk

Ok, I am not a breeder!
I know people who are and I cannot decide..

Would this be considered to be a backyard breeder?...
-Does not show dogs, but the dogs fit the standard.
-Obediance trains the dogs[mother and father dogs].
-Cares for each of the puppies
-Does not expect to get much money/ does not breed for the money
-Does not get the dogs tested before breeding.
-Brings the mom and puppies to the vet.
-Owns both the mom and dad.
-Keeps the puppies until theyre old enough to leave.
-Makes sure each one has a loving home and checks up on them every month.
-plans the litters out, so nothing goes wrong

Would that be a backyard breeding or not?

She cannot fly but is old enough to chirp and screech. Mom and Dad (bad father's day---bad joke) cannot come down and bring her back to the nest. Should I feed her bread crumbs until she can fly???? This sounds crazy but I am serious--poor thing! Kids with stupid answers can proceed to next question.

Im moving into a dorm and I needed a small aquarium. The one i have has a bio-wheel (no idea what it means) and has a three stage filtration. Ive read some questions and it seems most people would recommend one betta fish for such an aquarium. On the box it shows tiny fish (probably 1/3 of an inch, i think they are tetras?) and theres like 20 of them in the aquarium! im not looking to flood it with that many, but what type of fish would you recommend to put in? I want at least 4 fishes, but i dont want a fish that would overpopulate my aquarium. Im looking for generally small fishes that wouldnt be stressed out in a 2 gallon aquarium.

I've tried feeding them dry food and they began choking, so I added a little water to it. Once the food is soft enough the can eat it. How long should I keep adding water to their kitten food? Aren't they supposed to be ready to eat dry food yet? What if I just feed them special milk for kittens. Also, I wouldnt want them to dehydrate. Where I live it gets pretty hot 95 F. Thanx.

I'm just doing some research, so that when I'm able to buy a dog, I'll know which kind I want. I find that breed of dog very cute. Can anyone help me. Doesn't have to be pure bred, just need to know what breed it comes from.

I am getting fish in July, and I don't know how many fish I could get in there, and don't know what species to get either. I would like maybe two fish that are either beginner or intermediate level. I would also like that they were each a different species of fish, so I would like two small fish each a different species that would do well in a 1.5 or 2 gallon tank. Oh, and I'm sorry to be so picky, but they can't be tropical fish. In the space that I have, I don't have enough room for a water heater. Please, can you give me all the information that you have? Thanks.
