Hehe, golf, that's cute. I have a bunch of cats, and they sometimes are hypnotized by whatever's on tv...it doesn't seem to be anything in particular...right now one of them is sleeping next to me (that would be the boss of the house, Bob(cat)) and another one is on my lap trying REALLY hard to disrupt my ability to type by rolling around and rubbing her head on my hand, hehe..(Molly)
I had a cat named Hobo once...we heard a little kitty mewl outside one day, opened the front door, and there was a little tiny kitten, pure white, drenched from the rain, just staring at us. We brought him in and called him Hobo because of the way we found him....he was a great cat... :-)

My little kitten used to but lately he's lost interest. He liked to watch it when things were darting back and forth across the screen. That's probably why Mr. Hobo likes golf.

By the way I love the name. I have one named Mr. Fuzzy.

The cat does once in a while. The dogs, it depends what is on. While watching Eight Below Shiloh got very interested in the scene where the dog is crawling out on the ice and began crawling across the bed (I don't think he was imitating the movie but just moving in for a closer look, but you never know!). They (the dogs) get very interested in any show with animal sounds.

Maybe Mr. Hobo was a golfer in one of his nine lives? Or maybe he was a "catty"?

I foster parent for rescued pets until homes can be found and it's funny to see their fascination with TV or the computer.

One cat we kept, Didion-Doo (Diddi-Kitty) has connected that stepping on the computer keyboard causes action on the monitor. She keeps trying to "catch things" on the screen after she "types".

It's also funny watching animals watching another animal watching animals on TV.

What would the world be without our pets?

My sister's cat (and my sister, for that matter) is obsessed with Buffy the Vampire slayer and Angel reruns. Boo (the cat, not my sister) will lift her head when the cute guys come onto the screen, and will arch her back and hiss anytime the 'demons' show up (whether she visually notices them or just hears the dissonent music, I'm not sure). I think she looks at the cute guys because that's usually when my sister quits petting her to watch the cute guys. Two of a kind, they are...

My two year old cat loves to watch TV. He will sit mesmerized for hours, and believe it or not, it's usually the animal channel. He turns his head with the movement of the animals on it, which in itself isn't a big deal for cats, but when the commercials come on he will move around the room, and then as soon as it's back on he is right back at his station. When I leave the house, we always leave it on for him. He doesn't like loud music though. He acts like he's on
cat-nip when it's on. Super hyper. But I love him anyway.

Our cat loves hockey games. He sits on top of the set, peering down at the screen, and swats at the puck as it goes by. Of course, every so often he overbalances and falls on his head, after which he picks himself up, looks at the screen with an "Hmph! That's pretty silly stuff" and stalks off somewhere for a consoling nibble of something from his food bowl. But he's back again in time for the next game.
He may not be too bright, but we love him anyway.

My Kitties love to watch hockey with me. My bird does too. He actually cheers. He also laughs when watching some show. I also had a cat who was obsessed with the show meerkat manor. He would sit on the end of the bed as close to the tv as he could and just watch. He would do that as long as the show as on. He was in kitty heaven when the show back to back episodes. ;)

My dog never used to and then we took her to England and when she came out of rabies quarantine, she was obsessed with it. She would bite at the screen and especially anyone that was holding a mike. She hated anything like sheep or horses and would just jump at the screen. We got used to watching TV with a silhouette of her head in the middle of the screen.
