I know that a wet/dry filter would be best if you want a forest in your tank; I just want a few plants yet I'd like them to last so which power filter is best?

We found some milkweed in the hay our horses were eating. They probably ingested some before we picked it up. I looked it up and it is highly toxic to horses. Is there anything we can do or just wait and see if they show any signs or call the vet rihgt now?

There are several little white dots on the glass of the tank which, when you look closely are perfect spirals. What is this and how do I get rid of it?

Also, my clownfish is not eating. My other fish is eating, as is my shrimp. All water tests are good, and he looks to be in good health otherwise, and has been acting and swimming normally. Does anyone know why he may not be eating? I am feeding him his favorite food, and it still doesn't work.

I was wondering if it was a better idea to use old carbon in a top fin 60 power filter instead of putting new carbon in. Won't old carbon already have good bacteria on it?

Hi everyone, i have a problem it seems there are rats living on my back porch. How they got there or why they are living on my porch is beyond me. the only food out there is in a deep freeze that they can't get into. I dont know how to get rid of them any ideas. i know there are at least two i saw them. im worried becasue i have 8dogs that can get onto to back porch and i dont want them bit, i also have cats who can get in there too. i want to catch the rats before they get to my animals and hurt them. I realize catching them myself is dangerous but im going to do it.

Lately, there's been a rabbit roaming in our backyard. I was thinking that I could maybe take it in & raise it because I don't want it to be eaten or attacked by any of the neighboor's dog, nor to I want it to die of cold and starve to death. After all, it is minus 20 out there. So I was wondering if I should? And if I do, how can I catch it? Of course, I wanted to get it tested before hand if it was disease free and all.

My cat has worms around his exit hole. They look and are about half the size of white rice (after they dry a little they are a little yellowish).

He had them maybe 3 or 4 times and each time we give him the medicine and he gets healthier looking and no more worms in around his rear. But it keeps coming back?

He also has fleas and is always chewing himself. The fleas only bother us in the summer and we washed him with the shampoo and a lot die but still more fleas. The fleas are another matter... Can the vet do a good job of defleaing?

Anyway whats up with these worms, are they worms even and what type?

We have the pills to give him which the vet showed us how to do. He hasn't been to the vet for this yet, but as you know they charge an arm and a leg. Not that our cat isn't worth the help but if we can heal him why not try.

Our new kitten (4 months or so) licks his butt a lot. Is there a good chance she has them also? If so how much of the pill should we give her. She's going to g

She had ruined two beds and today chewed a corner off of a blanket. We put multiple toys, rawhide bones, and treats in there and she has plenty of room to move around but she still ruins things. Obviously she has separation anxiety and is doing this for spite but I don't trust her to roam while we are away. I hate to just leave her in there on the plastic and want to keep her comfy but she is leaving us no choice. We don't want her to choke on something. Help!

I bought a ragamuffin kitten from a lady who was selling both ragamuffins and ragdolls, and was just wondering if one kind is supposed to be better than the other kind.
I've read that they're two different breeds, but I have also read that ragamuffins can be ragdolls that weren't up to standards. Is that true?

There are four of them and one of them i can cup in my hand...thats how big the one is. The biggest one has went down in size a bit. I am concerned and I don't know what it is....I thought it was from my other dog biting him but now that he has more than one, I don't know. The vet said he could do some tests but he's not sure...it was a waste of a visit...if anyone could tell me that would be great!!!

My kitten , Bon Bon (six months old, boy), has been throwing up recently, my other kitten, Chata ( about ten months old, girl) also started to throw up. i don't know what to do. They've been throwing up what they eat, it is the same color of their food, could it be the new food they started to eat? they eat dry food, i tried giving them Whiskas a few months ago but they got diarrhea, now they're eating Purina. They don't seem sick, they play, run, and been eating and driking water like always, but i guess they can't digest the new food, should i change them back to their normal food (Friskies)?

This is not meant to be a sick question. I have a cat, and since Sunday 2:40 in the morning he has be throwing up. He's thrown up about four big piles and about six small spots in the past two days. Also, he won't eat anything. And the last problem is that he cannot poop. He can pee just fine and there's no blood. But I've noticed that he's tried to poop at least four times and was not able to. He has a vet appointment at eight in the morning tomorrow on Wednesday. I just want to make sure that since he hasn't been eating for the past two days that he'll be okay tonight. Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I rescued a Pomeranian that was abused, brutally. She's 7, and has had it rough. I had infections and teeth out from a doggie dentist, and had her eyes operated on today, which was $400. She got out of the fence twice (she's fast!) $70 apiece. The doctor wants me to take her to a doggie optomotrist now, out of state - none in connecticut - for something else, one of her eyes is cloudy. She's fine otherwise, a little sleepy now though:! and I had the vet bathe, clip and groom her. I am giving her a loving home, but do some vets just go on and on and on referring to specialist after specialist? She has a good quality of life since I got her. A lot of love, treats and spoiling. I'm not sure if I can afford the optomotrist and I feel like a bad mommy. How much in debt would you go for your pet?
