Ok i have this very abused dog that we rescued the other day cause the people just up and moved and left her there for a week with out food or water. She is 3 months old and has never had shots before and was allways left outside. But we are taking her to the vet on friday for her first set of shots (parvo distemper..etc). But i was wondering since she is 3 months old is this gonna be bad that she is just now getting her shots? Is this gonna cause any problems that she is getting them so late? Cause i know the vet starts them when they are 6 or 7 weeks old...but any ideas?

I need help in answering questions about the financial aspect of keeping treatments up for my dog with Addison,s...ITs very expensive for the medicine they are giving him and it has to be administered every 25 days. Its costing me $185.00 every vet visit ,, every 25 days... I need some other path to followl. help please!

He has been crying for the passed few days when we put him in the cage: obviously natural behavior. But until today, his cries could actually be identified as a dog's. As of today, his screams sound so extremely strained, high pitch. It looks painful for him to scream.
We noticed that he has been coughing today, too on and off. Maybe there is something in his throat? He has no trouble eating, drinking or breathing so maybe he strained his voice? Help?

my dog keeps scratching her back and her knuckle joints she does not have fleas as i treat her and keep on top of the problem

I have a male cat who is about 8-9 months old. Recently, in the last month, I've noticed my bed sheets smelling like cat urine. It's in the areas he usually sleeps. My cat also smells like urine sometimes. He's not neutered, so my first thought was that he was spraying. But, I have not yet seen him spray. And the strong urine smell is on a flat surface, not a vertical surface.
I took him to get him neutered a couple weeks ago, but the vet couldn't do it because he took my cat's tempurature and he had a fever (103). I also told the vet how my cat sneezes every now and then. (I assumed it was allergies). My cat also eats good, so I didn't know why he would have a fever. Anyway, the vet told me to come back in a couple weeks and they would check him out again.
So, last week I brought my cat in and he still has the fever. The vet told me to wait again on the neutering, and he gave my cat a couple antibiotic shots and allergy shots. He also gave me amoxicillan to give to my cat morning and night for two weeks.
So, I've been doing this for a few days now.
I'm wondering if the urine smell problem is related to his fever. Like I said, I've never actually seen my cat spray, it just smells really strong where he lays (and he himself smells). Is he spraying and I'm just not catching it, or could it be he has a urinary tract infection that's causing the smell (and also the fever)? If so, will the antibiotics clear it up? I noticed the smell again today. I've been giving my cat the antibiotics for about 5 days now.

my new kitty 3.5 month old eats my adult 1.5 year old cat's kibbles. They are both the same brand except one is for kitties, the other is for adults. I know that kittens have different nutrition requirements, but he just doesn't seem to like his, he likes hers better.

I took me dog to the vet 2 weeks ago and they took a cell sample from the lump.The vet said she thinks it is just fatty cells and sent me home with anti-inflammatories and told me to bath it. I did this for 4 days like I was told and the lump did not change. The vet told me they have to do a biopsy. Does anyone know what he could have?

My lab is suppose to get 4 sets of shots that are 3 weeks apart. I just found out today that these were suppose to be 3 wks apart and he is late on his 3rd set. He got his last set Dec. 30th. If I wait until next week, will this mess up his puppy shots. The lady at the vet told me I needed to get him to the vet as soon as possible. Is it imperative that I stay on the 3 week schedule?

some of you recommended that i give my dogs some kinds of pills for my dogs that could help them. i was wondering if i have to wait til there a certain age in order to give it to them to avoid any harm. also my dogs are less than 5 pounds. theyre toy yorkies and toy maltese. also about bathing them in oats. i just bought the quaker brand of oatmeal is that okay?

My cat has been missing for over 36 hours. He is an outside cat, but he is never gone for very long at all... in fact he never leaves the yard. My worry, is that a falcon or hawk got him - they have killed 2 rabbits already TODAY. He is not a tiny cat, but is able to fight things off pretty well... Where do injured/scared animals go? I have checked under the deck and in all the trees and all that. The nights here are down in the twenties so I'm very worried about him!!

i have 4 tiger oscars in a 55 gallon tank right now, about 3.5" - 5". i know that it is to small, but how long till you think they will pair off for mateing? once they do pair off, i'm only going to keep 2 in the tank and sell the other to the petstore. do u think that a pair of oscars can live in a 55 gallon tank? petsmart said that they needed 30+ gallon for one, and 20+ for everyone after the first one (for the adult size of 12 inches.) need info on mateing

I heard of bettas - when you INTRODUCE them to another (female) betta, (if they are interested in each other) he'll ... "swim" and "dance" to show that he's worthy to be her mate (I think). But is it possible that a male betta can do this before actually seeing the potential female mate? : O If so please tell me, because I want to know. I'm curious as to whether this is what my betta is doing or if he's just being ... himself. haha

I think he's just being himself (goofy betta <-likes to swim around the side of the tank as if I cared he were there! :P ) ....

and I'm not sure.... but... maybe it's just from the filter, but, is it possible that the male betta's can create a "nest" thingy before meeting the female (like I said earlier)???? ....


I'm seeing things. If not. Please tell me otherwise.
