It is a pomeranian that has been improperly labled so the bad breeder can charge you an arm and a leg for an unhealthy undersized puppy. Teacups do not exsist except in a tea set.

There is no such thing as a teacup pomeranian. Any dog labeled as teacup is simply an undersized dog that is labeled as teacup by unreputable breeder in an attempt to sell the dog for more money. There is a market for "miniature" versions of tiny dogs, so some people are breeding unhealthy dogs in order to create what they call teacups. It's simply a marketing attempt, and any dog bred by such a person or labeled a teacup probably has health problems.

It's just a regular Pomeranian which someone has labled teacup as discriptive to size. Pomeranians and othe small breed dogs are actually all toys, but some have given discriptive names within the toy breeds, Teacup, small, tiny, pocket ect. to help discribe a size a toy will be when grown.
As a breed in itself? It doesnt exist. Toys can be anywhere from 1 lb to 10 lbs it doesnt matter what discriptive lable is given them. You should steer away from breeders who insist it is it's own breed. They are either not experianced to know better or they are deliberately makeing this statement as a fact in order to hike the price.

It's a fancy made up term for an undersized dog that does not meet breed standards. Some breeders use the term teacup because it sounds important enough for them to charge more for it.

THERE is no such thing as a tea cup pom or a toy pom etc.. there is just one breed on pom and that is the breed of pom itself. the akc and other dog shows and breeds have these guide lines that they go by that say the one who can produce the smallest dog whether pom, chi, york, etc, has the better chance of taking home the ":GOLD" henceforth opening up the dog breeders world to a game of god when it comes to trying to breed the perfect dog, and leaving all the rest to wind up in shelters, to sell whereever, etc, the ones that they do breed successefully as a so called "TOY" however only live less than 1/4 at the most of its life span if lucky because of the healthy problems that arise from being so small.. which has caused an outrage in the spca and other organizations that wind up trying to rescue these animals after the show days are short lived and over with and they have been discarded because all their teeth have fallen out and their bones keep breaking and not to mention the kidney , liver , and a few other organ failure problems that can arise in just the first couple of weeks to first year/s of thier lives.. i own a yorkie.. he's 7pds.. got him at almost 3months old.. vet said to wait untill he was atleast that old so he would have made it past a critical time in his life.. and if he made it that far and was heallthy when i picked him up.. then unlike most yorkies who live up to 3-5 years because they are so small he has a great chance of living out the life span that he was originally breed for.. 15-17..

usually a badly bred/undersized specimen of the breed. usually bred by a back yard breeder who doesnt care about 'ethics' or performing health tests on their stock. they then label these as 'teacup' and sell them for an overinflated price as they are 'rare'!

It is the smallest size of that breed. Some dog breeds have different sizes ... Teacup, Toy, Standard and Giant. Hope that helps.
