I just got a new dog...and she's a little over a year old. I gave her a bone and she chews almost all of it in one day! Is that bone meant to last for a day or several days? Is there a time limit she should be allowed to chew the bone?

I have two cats and just recently got another kitten about two days ago. The first two are still not use to the newcomer and one of them still hisses at her. How long will it take for them to get use to each other and become "friends"?

I have a cat of 11 years - senior - yes, exceptionally old - no. His health hasn't been good for few months now and we've been going to the vet fairly often in the last 2 to 3 months. His symptoms were major weight loss (from 16lbs to 10lbs), peeing inappropriately and vomitting. The blood samples and ultrasound revealed some sort of liver failure (it is undersized but they don't know much more than that) and hyper-thyroidism. I've been giving him various medications which he resists or throws up. Giving him meds is stressing but so is the idea of putting him down. I worry about what this environment (physical & emotional) is doing for my 3 year old and my pregnancy. Should I put him down? Should I be there if I do or let my husband instead?

FYI we recently took him off the meds when we thought we would be putting him down. He did well for about 3 days but now is back to vomitting once or twice a day.

I was at a western horse show (poles and barrels) and I noticed that some of the people were wearing spurs and using them. They were the kind that stick out and sort of have a metal ball at the end. I'm not sure what they're called. But, I thought that spurs were illegal. Are they?

i just got a bichon frise last weekend but i am 13 so i have school and myy parents have work. During the week days we leave the house at 7:30 and ge back at 3:40. We are trying to crate train her so we leave her in her cage with her food and water and her toys. Problem is when we get back, she has "accidents" in her cage. And she smells bad so we have to wash her everyday. Any suggestions?

Maybe the answer its so simple its right infront of me. Does a new one grow in its place? If so, where does the new one come from? Like, is it grown in the body? I feel like the answer is right infront of me...

I have a indoor/outdoor cat and lately I've noticed that the inside of his mouth tastes like a different brand of cat food than I've been giving him. Do you think he's eating food at another house and eating here like in that Stove Top commercial?

Okay, so there is no confusion, I have a total of 3 male bettas, all in their OWN tank. They each have a heater(76F coldest -82 warmest), filter, 3 silk plants, and 1 or 2 hideouts. 2 of them each have a 10 gallon, the other one has a 5 gallon. My problem is finding compatible species, I got 4 rosy minnows, the pet store owners said they would be ok, but the next morning they were hiding underneath the hideouts, not coming out. (they were moved into a community 29 gallon tank, much happier) Now the people at the shop said male bettas could pretty go w/ most peacefull community fish cept tetras and bettas. I dont want a recapse of what happened to the minnows, so what would be great fish to put w/ them? I KNOW THE INCH OF FISH PER GALLON RULE, TANK WELL CYCLED, DECHLORED, DO HAVE AQAURIUM SALT IN WATER THOUGH. I had 3 ghost shrimp w/ the male who terrorized the minnows, and they were fine, but they were moved into 29 gallon when he got sick, and they are staying there. I

I must have super rats. My fancy rats Marsha, Rhia, Nikolas, and Peitari each have super skills that have rarely (if ever) been observed in the Fancy Rat. Marsha can sense emotion through smell like a beagle, Rhia can jump 2 times the record for long jumping in the rat olympics & Walks the tightrope like a pro, Peitari has mad cognitive skills (He analyzes problems, figures them out, and corrects them at the blink of an eye, his brain works far faster than the average humans) and Nikolas has a gift for languages. He knows how to come when he's called, goes in his crate when "crate" is called, takes his medicine on command, fetches small objects, and stays. Has anyone one else owned or known a 'Super Rat"?

Just wondering how many people acutally take there dog to someone elses house. We have a friend and they bring their dog to our house...and we have cats so you can imagine that it doesn't really go good we have to close our cats up so the dog won't chase them. Anyways just wondering how many dog owners do that? do you ask the before you bring your dog? (not to be offense to any who might be. it is for a narrative essay)

My betta fish is not moving. It's on the top of the fishbowl, but if I poke it, it will flutter and move a bit. It won't eat now. There's been a couple of days since I fed it, so did it starve? What do I do?

hi--i just moved into a new place in tennessee and the floors kind of needed to be refinished. my two cats, mittens and mr. snickers, are strickly indoors cats, and so i couldn''t put them out while the floors got done but locking them up seemed mean. so instead i tied a bunch of heliom balloons to them so they could just kind of float wherever they want in the house. one of the stupid home depot guys said the fumes was getting to him though and left the front door open to air the house and mr. snickers sort of drifted out the door when no one was looking, and got his ballons tangled high up in a tree and now hes just dangling there. i tried popping them with a pellte gun but missed and he yowled some, so i don't want to do that again. how else can i get him down? he's too high for a ladder to reach!
