I'm trying a new formula for co2 production tonight. Does anybody think this is any good, or a waste of time? Do you have a favorite co2 production formula?

2 Packets Jello (the sugared kind)
1 & 1/2 cups sugar.
Some children's gummy b vitamins.

I'll make that into jello inside 2 litre bottles. After it solidifies, I'll add 1/2 teaspoon of yeast, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar (to get things started), and fill it up with lukewarm water.

Does this seem like a worthwhile formula to try?

My husband and I adopted a dog from the local animal shelter. He is about 2 years old and has been abandoned twice. He developed separation anxiety almost immediately. We tried crating him, he tore the wire crate apart and got out of the plastic one in 15 minutes! We tried a "safe" room but he destoyed it. My husband has a job where he can take him with him and he does. Is this the wrong thing to do? Will it create more anxiety? We have been able to leave him for short periods of time recently and are slowly working up to longer time periods. This is what we thought was the right way to deal with his separation anxiety but some people have told me otherwise. What do you think?

My Husband and I live in a small townhouse and I would love to have a black lab, although my husband suggests that we wait until we have a house with a backyard. Any suggestions with a compromise?? :) Additionally, I love to take long walks and I realize that these breeds need lots of exercise!! :)

My ex-wife and I were divorced 2 weeks ago and in the divorce decree I get our 5 year old male doberman and she gets our 8 year old female doberman.

The female is very indipendent and doesn't favor us any different. Our male really likes me. You could say he is my dog.

We got both dogs when they were puppies and they grew up with each other.

I really want to take him but should I? Any suggestions?

Thanks

People say cats are smarter. So y dont cops use them to search for ppl's traces, or customs to search for drugs? I believe that dogs are way more intelligent and extremely loyal. Blokes Best friend i say. Treat them well and u've got a friend for life. Cats only go to whoever has food, rub up against ur leg then they just F*** off again.

I'm thinking of hand raising a pigeon, I know a few places to find info on hand raising. But let me break it down, I CAN'T afford an incubator right at the moment so the only form of incubation I have for the egg is a desklamp with a 20 watt bulb that gets to be about 90 degrees or more. I know where to find a chart regarding temp and humidity for the egg which I plan to get from a friend in CA. Just so you know I'm only there for 2 or 3 days at a time so I CAN'T wait around for the chick to be born (if it hasn't hatched already). The last time I tried incubating a pigeon egg I used a heating pad but the chick died of heatstroke. Since then I've done research and learned from my mistakes. But does anyone have any tips or advice to prevent yet another failure?

I want my next try to be sucessful!

My dog is 1yr4months old. I recently noticed that his one tooth was missing. It was partially missing. The tooth that I found on the floor was a little black. I looked inside his mouth and there was partial of his teeth left in his mouth.

Our yard is mostly dead grass with few tufts of green here and there. It is about 10 x 20 feet off a patio. It is our dogs' potty place. But lately it has begun to stink to high heaven. We clean up the droppings daily but the urine smell is horrible. We watered it (we live in the desert and don't get much rain) but that seemed to make it worse. Any suggestions.

This is on the Hartz website but they offer no scientific explaination. Is there any science behind this or is it urban legend that even Hartz believes? What actually causes this; if its true? And are cats the only ones effected?

I have 2 columbians along with 4 other species of sharks in a 125 gallon tank. They seem to be doing fine with plain old aquarium salt. Should I switch to brackish or not? I have bala's, rainbow's, ghost knife, red tips and black tips.
