Chocolate is poisonous to dogs. Depending on your dog's weight and the type/concentration of the chocolate, this could even cause death if the dog is small and he/she ate a lot of chocolate. Call your vet ASAP and tell them what happened or call an animal poison control hot line.

It depends on the amount of chocolate in the brownies and the size of the dog. The fatal amount of chocolate is about an ounce of dark chocolate per pound of dog, so unless the brownies were really rich or your dog is very tiny, 4 brownies is probably not a toxic amount. It is likely to upset his stomach, however, so keep an eye on him and make sure he has access to an area he can relieve himself, since he will probably need to in a hurry, if he doesn't throw up first. His crate is probably not the best place to leave him, or you're going to have a lot of bathing and hosing off to do.

This happens a lot. Do a search on here or on the web for chocolate and dogs - I believe that some hydrogen peroxide will make him vomit, and you should be OK. The other ingredients in the brownies (flour, eggs) should make things easier on your dog!

some dogs handle chocolate better than others. my friend's dog, an american bulldog, once knocked down a chocolate cake (complete with chocolate frosting and sprinkles) and ate all but about a doggie mouthfull of it and had nothing wrong with her. I'd suggest taking your dog to the vet real quick anyways, just to be sure.

calm down! when it comes to dogs eating chocolate it's measured in lbs of chocolate pre lbs of dog. there is no way your dog will die from eating brownies. if it makes you feel better, call the vet. they'll tell you the same thing.

IF they were from a box, i wouldnt worry about it, its dark chocolate that kills dogs, not processed chocolate with a whole bunch of flour, i would make sure he gets alot of water and some food to get it through his system expect diahrea, if he is shaking, frothing, or gets dissoriented you shodul get him to the emergency vet

Just watch your dog for signs of drolling or unusual behavior. He/ She will probably be fine. Mine ate an entire bag of Hersey Kisses and was OK. Just be on the lookout for odd behavior.

You might want to call your Vet that you use and see if you should bring him in. I know my dog ate some chocolate and became extremely sick.

at least call the vet and get his advice and you have to keep things up and away from your pets. especially harmful things. dogs are only doing what comes natural to them when it comes to eating. may be your chocolate was not full strenght so he may be okay. still call the vet if you notice any thing different.
