No, Cats are more independant and I really think that makes them just as smart (if not more in some cases) because they can't be bought and treated like robots like dogs are (NOT saying that they aren't smart, they are extremely intellegent). I love dogs and cats and I wouldnt trust anyone that actually "hated" either of them, nor would i associate with someone who did. What kind of person could hate an innocent animal? Anyways, you really can't go by which is smarter by which obeys best. It doesn't work that way. You have to look at EVERYTHING with both animals. They're probably just about equal.

I love both cats and dogs.
Cats are very intelligent, and they are trainable too - you just have to make it fun and rewarding for them. http://www.clickertraining.com has video of cats who have been trained to do agility courses. I've also seen cats that are very loyal - one of mine follows me around just like a puppy. I've known some who were boarded at a kennel and wouldn't eat because they missed their people so badly. I've seen reports of cats waking up their owners to save them from burning buildings, and of cats warning their owners of prowlers around the house. They are incredibly loving and intelligent creatures.
Of course, this means they're intelligent enough to tell if someone doesn't like them, in which case they won't bother with trying to convince you they're smart & loyal. Cats give what they get - if you love them, they'll love you. If not, then you'll never know what you're missing.
Dogs have been bred for thousands of years to work closely with humans, so of course they tend to be easier to train. Trainability and intelligence aren't necessarily the same thing, though. Ask anyone who's known and trained an independent breed such as a terrier or hound - they're harder to train than dogs bred to work closely with people, but they're certainly not stupid!
I do love my dog dearly, and she's very smart too. I can't imagine being without either my cats or my dog.

at least cats dont slobber all over you, Cant be shot or put down if they bite you, they dont **** all over your backyard they go else where and do it,they dont bark at stupid times of the day, they only eat once a day, they save you money because they do exterminations for you (Mice, rats, cockroaches etc), they only eat a tin of food that is the size of a jhon west tuna can (The smallest one) They sleep on your bed without making your bed smell or your house in that matter, Cats STAY CLEAN you never have to pay someone to wash them, Cats can walk on a balcony and not slip off the edge ( Dogs are stupid enough to jump off)
AND CATS LIVE LONGER THAN DOGS and i wish every male was a cat that way i would never be annoyed because cats are independent they give you the joy of bieng alone not slobbered on every two minutes
So there it is somethings about cats arent that bad. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs i love em and im grateful my dogs are OUTSIDE i love all animals but to me a cat is my fave.

incredibly dogs could be extremely sensible and can be knowledgeable to do a super form of issues. it incredibly is in basic terms some human beings do not make the hassle to coach them. it takes a super form of sufferers to coach a dogs confusing issues, yet once you artwork not undemanding sufficient you are able to instruct them very virtually something! and now and back it merely relies upon on the breed or merely the character of the dogs. it incredibly is easiest to coach a dogs in case you initiate youthful, however the down ingredient to that's that they do poop and pee interior greater generally. If possibly to procure the dogs a dogs door and taught it that employing the bathing room in the living house substitute into undesirable then that could artwork. they even sell education pads for dogs that inspire the dogs to pass in the placement you place that pad so in case you place it exterior they could learn how to apply the bathing room exterior.

I love both equally. I have both and boh are smart and affectionate in their own ways, just a both are dumb and anooying in their own ways....have you ever owned your own cat and trained it from scratch......if not then you should not go screaming about how much you hate cats because the truth is you don't know anything about them. The whole cats are better vs dogs are better debate is immature, it is similar to saying you'd rather a baby boy than a baby girl. Grow up.

dogs definately! ive had cats before-the best cat ive had was a big white male called tyson (cos he gave a mean right hook!) now he was like a dog, he walked where i walked, played with my dogs in the field, came when he was called, and slapped every other cat and dog round the face and was afraid of nothing! unfortunately he was run over on a quiet road outside my house, if he had stayed inside instead of chasing foxes i would still have him today. ive had three other cats since him and they have all decided to leave my house for houses with cat flaps! where as my loyal and faithful dogs would never dream of leaving me for a house with a doggie door! let alone think about walking away with a strange person! my dogs and mine alone! and as for dogs messing in YOUR OWN garden at least i know where my dogs have messed, and it doesnt cause a problem with toxacara worms (they are wormed regularly-how many cats are wormed?) with a cat they go and mess in somebody elses garden, dig up the flowerbeds, ruin the lawn, kill rare bird species, try to eat your pet rabbits, spray over the back door, spray on your car radiator-so when your car heats up it stinks of cat pee! if i wanted the vermin population kept down i would use MY DOGS to do it-they are far more efficient and quicker than cats.

I really prefer dogs. I usually do not like cats, but a friend of mine has a hairless cat that acts just like a dog. He can walk on a leash, fetch, and he even knows basic obedience (sit, stay, and down).

I'm a dog lover; I don't like cats. Kittens are okay, but not cats. They creep me out.

i don't like cats at all, but i love dogs. when i moved into my house, there were always cats hanging around. i used to wait till the cats were through the fence (on the other side of my yard) then i would let my dogs out to bark at them. they stopped coming around after a while and no, i wouldn't have let my dogs get them.
