Take him to the vet now. Is it just his hind legs? It may be a saddle thrombus (a clot in his artery, blocking blood flow from his hind end) or a spinal cord injury. You are going to take him to the vet eventually, so do it now, before the problem gets worse. Then you will have to spend even more money, and your kitty will be in even worse shape. It is to both your benefit to take care of the problem now, at an emergency clinic.

Ask your vet if they have a payment plan- if this is a one time thing where normally you could afford it but moneys tight, they will hopefully be able to work something out for you.
If they can't, please take your kitty to the local ASPCA shelter- they can offer low-cost/no-cost care in the light of your circumstances.
Either way, take this kitty to get medical care ASAP.
(If finances are a long-term problem, please give the little guy up for adoption- it is a committment to have a pet and he deserves all the care he needs. There will be lots of kitties looking for good homes when you have the money, as well as the heart, to provide one.)
Good luck to you both

VEt, vet, vet. This is a responsibility we take on when we decide to bring pets into the family. We need to be able to budget for their medical care. Getting vet insurance for situations like this is very recommended. It will cost about $300/year. So if your cat has to have surgery or supported by fluid IV, and is prescribed meds, this helps. Ask about a payment plan. Your kitty relies on you to be able to take care of her. Please get him to the vet!!

if your child was sick would you say i can't afford to take you to the Dr? the cat is like your child he has no one to watch out for him except you. if you can not afford to take the pet to the doctor perhaps you should not have a pet in the first place.
IT IS YOUR DUTY TO CARE FOR YOUR PETS!!! how would you like it if your family said, gee, sorry your sick but i don't have the money to help you right now. wait a while until i have some more cash.
if your cat can't walk he most definitely has a problem!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO TO THE VET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can not afford it then give him to someone who can, or give him up for adoption.
Think of the cat and not yourself.
