In puppies, it's common for them to throw up. Their digestive system is still developing. Make sure you're feeding it a food specifically for puppies, and it helps to mix in a little milk, just enough to barely soften it.

Many things can cause this. If the vomit was tubular shaped, then it was probably regurgitation rather than true vomit. (if the dog eats too much too quickly, the food will get caught at one of several places in the esophagus and come right back out.)
Otherwise, pancreatitis due to ingestion of some foreign material (socks, trash, human food, etc.) is a common cause of vomiting, as are intestinal worms, which your puppy should be tested for regardless.
To be perfectly honest, I wouln't be terribly worried. If the vomiting continues,or seems prolific, then take your puppy to a vet asap. If it's a one time event, don't get overly concerned.

In the last house we lived in our dog would occasionally eat something in the backyard that would make him throw up like that. The vet gave us a supply of some medicine to give him to stop it. I don't know about it being common in puppies, but maybe he just overate? If he does it again, I'd take him to the vet tomorrow.

he should be fine. it is normal for young puppies to throw up their food after they eat. also when my dog was a puppy she ate way too fast and drank way way toooo fast so afterwards she would start like coughing and sometimes throw up so if u can make sure she isnt eating too fast. you may also want to feel her tummy to see if you feel a lump because he may have eaten something hard or big that could be making him sick. if he starts to look and feel sick and tired and he keeps throwing up with diahrea u need to takehim to the doctor immediatly because he could have parvo wich is very deadly!
hope he gets better!!!!!

He most likely ate too fast and then drank too much water. Puppies usually like to INHALE their food and don't know when to stop drinking water after they've eaten...

keep an eye on him and if he seems normal in the morning and throughout the day I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Make sure you feed it several small meals a day.
As to what caused it I can only guess.
He probably ate too fast, ate too much or played right after eating.
They should not play shortly after eating, it can lead too much more severe problems
Hope he gets to feeling better

you should take him to the vet. my pup was 9 months old when he died.... he started throwing up but we figured it was normal. we took him in and they didnt find anything. he died a few days later because he had eaten something he wasnt supposed... maybe a sock or something. his bowel folded inside of itself. this may be nothing but you need to take him in... just to be safe.
