She may have some sort of allergy or she may be doing it due to stress. You might want to get her to the vet. At the very least, they can give you something to put on the irritated skin.

This may be stress-related due to the other cat running away and all - the remaining cat may be missing the one that ran away or there may be something in the home environment that is stressing the cat. Why don't you try one of those anti-stress kitty products like Feliway or the flower essences that you can buy at Petco or Petsmart? See how the cat responds to that. If she gets anyworse, its time to go to the vet.

You don't say where your cat is scratching the fur off at, but if it is around the ears, it sounds like a classic case of ear mites. The vet has a one time treatment for it.

Could be stress. I suggest "Bachs Rescue Remedy". You can get this at any good health food store. A couple of drops in her mouth or in her water should help her. You may want to take her to the vet as well as it may be mange. But I think it's stress from losing her buddy.

She may have mange. This is a very itchy uncomfortable problem for your cat and it could lead to all kinds of intestinal problems as well. Get your to a vet ASAP. This condition is probably contagious. Yuck.

It could be ring worm (which you can get )or a sign of mange (not sure on spelling). I would take her to a vet or atleast call one and tell the symptoms.
