The saddle should have come with two cinch straps to attache the front cinch. The one on the right side of the saddle (if sitting in it) should have holes in it, much like a belt. You should loop this strap through the ring in the side of the saddle so that the ends are even and the holes line up. Then, again like a belt, attach the buckle of the cinch to the strap. Set it on a hole that looks like it would like the center of the cinch to the center of the horse's belly. On the other side of the saddle you should have a very long strap most likely looped through the ring on the left side and fastend with a small leather tie. Take the cinch under the horse's belly and loop the long leather strap through the end of the buckle from the horse side to your side. Next pull this tight around the horse's barrel and loop the end of the strap back through it's the ring on the saddle. Slid the strap down between itself and the horse and back through the cinch again. Then go back up to the ring on the saddle, but this time don't go down the strap again pull the excess to the side. Pull up on the strap against the horse's side to tighten, and then you wrap the excess length of the strap around the front of the attached portion of the strap and back through the ring from horse side to you. Simply tuck that last peice into the loop you just made and tighten. And your done.
sorry it's easier to explain with pics.

What you need is an off billet. This is a piece of leather or heavy nylon that folds over (in half) the d ring on the right side if the saddle. It has holes punched in it all the way down, so you can buckle one end of the cinch to it (thru both sides). If you would like, I can email you a picture of how it all fits together.

You either buckle it, or tie a cinch knot, depending on what kind of a cinch you have. Check out this page, they have instructions for many different kinds of cinches.

Add on to "Paint Pony"'s answer - if you get a billit make sure the cinch you have has some sort of pocket that you can tuck the extra part of the billet that is hanging down into. i rode with that flapping just one time and my horse bucked and took off. other horses will react differently but i would just be cautious of this.

It probably depends on what type of saddle you got and what cinch you're going to be attaching to it. If you were to take them in to the saddlery or someone knowledgable in that kind of tack they'd prob be happy as to help :)
