It could be allergies (doubtful), fatty tumors, sebaceous cysts, etc. If the lumps feel soft, they are likely fatty tumors. If they are harder, then they are most likely a sebaceous cyst which is no big deal on either one. Fatty tumors can be removed if you elect to and sebaceous cysts are basically a big pimple on a dog. You just sticks a needle in it and squeeze out the cheesy looking stuff inside. My dog has one on his back that we're doing that to now. I would definately see another vet, sounds to me like the one you seen was trying to get more money out of you by running extra tests! My vet knew exactly what Leo's was as soon as she seen him.

If the vet who presumably saw the lumps would have to do tests to find out what they are, how do you expect a bunch of lay people will be able to diagnose them over the Internet without having seen your dog at all?
If they are bothering the dog or you, then pay for the tests. It was only a waste of a visit because you did not follow through with the vet's advice.

there are a lot of things it could be. from a bug bite, allergies, tumors and even infection of the glands, if you other dog just tore the skin it can even be infection from that. you must have your vet run tests to see what it is. no vet can give you a answer unless he does the testing. and he was honest with you. you should have told him you would like the test to begin. and if you do not like your vet, then get another one, if for no other reason then to get your pet the proper medical treatment. so call the vet up and ask when can the test start.good luck and l hope your pet will be okay

Lisa, it could be anything from a tumor to a cyst to an allergy to a severe reaction to bug bites. If you don't like how your vet responded, visit a new vet. Chances are unless there is an obvious diagnosis, further tests will be necessary no matter where you go. . .

Not sure how old your dog is, mine is now 14. Since she was 10, or so, she's had 'fatty tumors'. They get a little bigger, one sounds about the same as your description. We didn't have them biopsied, because of her age. If they're more than 'fatty', she's too old to for surgery anyway. They'll just remain there.

your vet should have at least taken a biopsy of the lumps & sent them away for testing, ask him/her to do this for u as its important to make sure they are not cancerous, i had a dog who had a lump on her leg & i left it to long, the vet did a biopsy & it was cancer, if your vet denies wanting to do a biopsy go see someone else its no good not knowing what these lumps are. best of luck & get them lumps biopsied ASAP.

what do they feel like??? my dog has several fatty tumors throught her body one about the size you mentioned...she has had a few removed as they were in inconvenient locations but other than that they haven't been a problem. Her tumors were even and smooth in shape and they were a little squishy and located just under the skin.

it might be an allergy to something so watch what your dog does and try and observe what foods cause reactions. also see that if you change his food if the bumps go away because that will show that he is allergic to that food
