This is not meant to be a sick question. I have a cat, and since Sunday 2:40 in the morning he has be throwing up. He's thrown up about four big piles and about six small spots in the past two days. Also, he won't eat anything. And the last problem is that he cannot poop. He can pee just fine and there's no blood. But I've noticed that he's tried to poop at least four times and was not able to. He has a vet appointment at eight in the morning tomorrow on Wednesday. I just want to make sure that since he hasn't been eating for the past two days that he'll be okay tonight. Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Keep him well hydrated. If you have a medicine dropper or syringe, feed your kitty water through that. Dehydration can complicate matter for a cat very quickly. So give him water. You can tell if the cat is dehydrated. Gently Pinch the nape of his neck and pull upwards a little then releas. If the skin goes down very very slowly of keeps the pinch formation, kitty is dehydrated. The skin should return dwon quickly if the cat is well-hydrated.

Sounds like your cat has an intestinal obstruction. I hope the vet can fix him quickly.

Oh... a cat will starve to death if he has not eaten 5 - 7 days. But if he has not eaten 3 days in a row, he's in danger of lipidosis, fatty liver disease - very bad for a cat. But it also depends on the natural constitution of your cat. My cat went missing for 10 days. When he got back, he was hungry as anything and I fed him. Took him to the vet first thing in the morning and his x-ray showed no food at all in the intestines - just the food I gave him still in his stomach. Vet said he may not have eaten for several days becuase the intestines were just full of air. That was 4 years ago and my cat is still very healthy right now.

I do hope your kitty will have a similar happy ending to his episode.

Your poor cat! I wish had some advice for you, but I think you did the right thing by making an appointment for him to see the vet! I hope he's at least drinking water. You may think he's constipated, but he could have diarrhea. My dog did this one time. I thought the poor thing was constipated because he kept trying to go to the bathroom and nothing happened. I took him to the vet and come to find out, he had a parasite of some type which was causing him to have diarrhea. Maybe that's what's wrong w/ your cat...

Good luck
