The drooling stops the minute he's not being stimulated. He's a healthy cat in all other aspects. Any suggestions as to why he drools, or can it be stopped? Thanks

My cat used to do this. I think it's pretty normal, just kind of gross. I don't really have any advice for you, your question just made me laugh remembering my cat, so I had to reply to it.

definite, I actually have a cat that drools each and all the time while i'm petting her. that's an exceptionally usual subject for cats to do. each and every so often this is via fact they have issues of their tooth, or that they had issues of their tooth at one time. frequently this is only via shape and place of their tooth of their mouths. this is why no longer all cats do it, yet some do. while they're very comfortable their mouths do no longer close thoroughly on the facets, so as that they drool. It only skill they they're happy and comfortable and feeling sturdy.

I have had a lot of cats in my life and some of them just drool when they are happy I think that it relates to nursing when they were young. who knows but you can't change it. It just is. Just wash it off when they are done.

is it a whole lot of drool?
i have never heard of that before; i might call or take him by a vet just to be sure if i were you; but it sounds like it wouldn't hurt him long-term.
