I'd like to administer my own vaccines and medications for my pets. I have a lot of animals and they all need visits to the vet but I have too many animals really to run them back and forth. It would be much easier to just do it all myself. I know where to buy the medications and such I just would like some more information or websites that may help guide me in this process.

We have 2 goldfish, 1 orange and 1 white. 20 gallon Eclipse Tank. They are about 2 yrs old and were doing fine until today. Today the white one turned red near the head (see photo) and acting very listless at the bottom of the tank. Ammonia levels are in the safe range. The orange one seems unaffected and is keeping the white one company, sometimes nibbling at the white one. The white one looks like he is about to die!

My cat recently had a health scare that required abdominal surgery to remove an obstruction. While they were diagnosing him, they found his blood glucose was 175. The vet is not too concerned. He drinks a lot, and he was on steroids for about a year and a half, but hasn't taken them for almost two years--but she says the levels are not that high to be concerned. Any input? I'd hate to think he went through all that surgery only to find out he's diabetic--and I don't really have the $$$$ to test him now.

My dog had a tumor removed from his leg on 1/4/07. the vet said the stitches needed to stay in for 21 days. It has now been 18 days and I won't be able to take him to the vet for another week or week and a half, if I can't take him in tomorrow. So, can I take them out myself? The dog has already removed 3 himself and the incision looks good. If it is ok to remove them, how do I do it? Just snip, pull and clean? (After I've sterilized my instruments, of course). Thanks for your help!

I am thinking about getting another guinea pig to keep my other one company..... I have had the one for about a year-and-a-half.... and I want to go buy another one..... would the older one hurt the baby..... I called the pet shop and asked about breeding but thats not what I am getting one for..... its kinda confusing..... cause at first I wanted babies...they said the male should be about a year or older...... so I guess I have TWO QUESTIONS....lol NUMBER ONE...... would it be ok to put a (younger male) guinea pig in with my (older male) guinea pig.... and NUMBER TWO... if I decide to get a female..... how old should she be!??!?!

I have a 15 gal tropical tank. I setup the tank with 4 live plants and let the tank sit for 3 weeks with just the filter and light on. After the three weeks I tested the water. All levels were perfect. I then purchased 3 neon's and placed in tank with some stress out and some bacteria. Three days later I tested water, everything was perfect, So every other day I purchased 1 fish-total now 15 fish for 15 Gal. of water. Everything was fine, as far as test levels. It's been 2 weeks since having 15 fish in the tank. I now have high level of ammonia, I have added more bacteria, and kept up with water changes and vacuming the bottom, and still the ammonia has not even dropped a level, I now have put some ammo lock into the tank, HOW to get rid of Ammonia?

I have a tank the had 3 male guppies, 4 female guppies, 2 female mollies, and a pelco. Yesterday I lost 1 male guppy and 1 female. They show no outside signs of problems and they were just fine yesterday morning.
I changed 10% of the water last night and gave them a salt bath. Before doing that I tested the tank and my PH was 6.4. All the others were fine. What should the PH be in?

My dog is a 3 year old female cross between a german shepard and a husky, she has a very lovely gentle temperament, loves children. Recently when we have taken her to the park she has attacked other dogs. There hasn't been any growling or barking before hand, she has just started fighting with them. She is stopping and leaving when I say but I don't like having to walk around with her on the lead all the time. My partner said it might be because she was attacked by a german shepard recently, if that is the reason how can i get her back to her old friendly self. When she is with the neighbours dog, who they have know since puppies she is fine. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My biggest question, and the one that voids all of the others, is: Are munchkin cats in the same ball park as teacup whatever dogs? I've done some research, not at all extensive, but it seems to be nothing more than a simple mutation likened to people having green eyes or what made weanertype dogs the way they are.

And then: Where could I get one? I would have no issue trying shelters, but I am more than possitive that not one person in this area knows that cats have breeds beyong fluffy and standard.

And last but so far from least: How expensive? By the time I'm ready to adopt one, money shouldn't be an issue, but I'd like to have it saved up by then.

Much thanks.
