I guess you know an average hamster's lifespan is about 2years. I used to be a breeder and if i hear some funny noises like panting from the hamsters, i usually will think that the hamster is sick or about to die.
But before we go to that conclusion, you also gotta see if you have recently did any changes to the food, environment ( change of beddings). I used to have one hamster who whiff unusually because i changed a different bedding.
Just think through any possible changes, and see if your hamster is recently very lethargic. If excessive lethargy and weird sounds, do be prepared for the worst.

She may be in pain. 2 years old is a good age for a hamster and she may be reaching the end of her life im afraid. Take her to a vet, he will be able to tell you whats wrong if it is a medical problem.

Good question, I was just at my sons school (where I work in the am ) and his hamster is doing the same thing. The hamster was at our house for x-mas break and we just sent him back to school today a few hours later my son and other kids came and got me from my classroom to call the vet for Meko( the hamster) But he is 1 1/2 and the only survivor from his litter, all his siblings have died so far. Meko can hardly breath, he was fine this morning. Anothor teacher at school who knows alot about animals said meko is dying. So we are going to bring him home after school to die at home. The kids are all upset.

Definitely best to take her to the vet. Hamsters live on average 1.5-2 years so get her checked out...good luck

My hamster started to snore when she was about 1... it was qiute alarming at first but I got used to it... she lived for 3 years! Probably best to pay a visit to your vet though! :)

My hamster makes noises all the time. He is healthy (physically) however he is addicted to bar chewing.
