My dalmatian molly, Emmitt, just died and while I loved him (or because I loved him), I want to get a different kind of fish. I only have a 2.65 gallon tank, so I know I can't get anything big or in large quantities. I either want one or two (at the very most) fish the size of mollies, or 4 very small fish (to name after Phish...haha I'm so lame).

Note:
Freshwater only -I have a filter and a lamp in the hood.
Fish I don't want: Goldfish (due to their need for a larger tank) and Bettas

I'm in the process of persuading my parents to get me a kitten. I'd like to have a little insight on which breed would be the best one to buy just in case they agree. I want a kitten that doesn't shed a lot, can stay inside the house, able to groom itself, cute, and something that strict parents would approve of. Thanks! Please attach a website if you know of one for kitten care, the breeds, and other stuff like that.

I have my own cat, which is strictly indoor. But I've grown fond of a number of cats around our block that have a wide range of personalities and behaviors.
Two of them -- a long haired Maine Coon with an orange saddle and a mostly white Tuxedo cat -- have taken to beating each other up on a near daily basis. This mostly happens near my study in the early afternoon. I have no idea who the owners are and would really like to bring an end to this ongoing battle.
Any suggestions?

What is the best breed of dog for people with allergies to say for example pugs and dogs in that family group? What are good family dogs that are "hypoallergenic"?

just fine all weekend. This morning I gave her some food and water and she hasn't eaten a thing. She's drank very little. She's been a little less playful and threw up green liquid with something that looked like grass in it. I've made a vet appointment already for her checkup and to have her spayed tomorrow. But I'm just curious about this behavior. Should I be worried or is this something that will pass.

This has been bothering me for quite some time now. My live in bf of less than a year gives his cat more attention than he gives me. He sweet talks his cat, hugs the cat when he sleeps and says that his cat (his first pet) is considered like a son. He then tells me that he loves me more than anything in the world. I love him to death, and we're very happy together except for this little situation. It just kills me to see that the cat gets more "pampering" than I do. Its the cats house, and the cats bed that we live in. Everything is the cat's. He stares adoringly and has moments with the cat. I just feel like i'm just an outsider that he talks too. Anyone go through this? Should I be feeling like this? Should I reconsider our relationship because of this? What should I do?

I got two goldfish a couple of days ago and was told to feed them once every other day. Well I fed them every day instead. Then today when I arrived at my home, they were fine. I didn't feed them, thinking I had already fed them too much since I fed them everyday, and 10 minutes later one of the fish is dead! I tapped on the glass to be sure; no movement. I bumped him with my dipper; still no movement. I assumed he was dead so I respectively flushed him. Then I read online that fish will sometimes float or sink if they have stomach problems. Is it possible my fish was alive and I just flushed him?! He was floating on his side, and his fins weren't moving so he looked dead to me. Anyone have anything to say to this?

4 days ago, my dog was up and running around. She is around 13 years old, a border collie, and is EXTREMELY active. 3 days ago, I woke up to find her lying on the ground. I called out her name sweetly, petted her, and gave her a treat. She didn't even wag her tail. I know that sounds odd for her not to do but trust me, she wags her tail ALL the time. I tried to coax her up to go to the bathroom, but she physically couldn't get up. You could tell she tried though because the whole time she was whimpering, trying to get up. I had to hand feed her and she ate which is good that she has an apetite. 2 days ago, I woke up to find her lying in her own urine. (please don't say that's gross because I find it heartbreaking). She was in the same condition that day except it smelled like fish. (urine) She wagged her tail a LITTLE BIT but not much. I really need to take her to the vet but I physically don't have the money. Is there anything natural (not medicine) I can give her? HELP

I have never seen dog food with turkey, and have always heard it would make them sick.It is my opinion that turkey and chicken are in the same family.

I have a 4 month old Golden Doodle puppy. She is cute, fun and playful and I love her to death.

I also have a brand new house with a brand new front and back lawn that I also sorta like. Unfortunately I have a few large holes in my yard now because my playful lovable dog thinks its fun to dig up the yard. I now cant let her out without taking my eyes off her for a second.

How can I prevent my dog from digging up the yard?

This is my budgie's 2nd clutch; yesterday (or the night before) the hen laid her 1st egg; it was there earlier today, I saw it... but now it's completely gone from the nest box! There's no sign of it anywhere in the box, the cage, or the area around it; could one of them eaten it? She had a clutch before and everything worked out fine, so this is not normal behavior for her... and there's no mess anywhere either, so how can they eat it without me seeing something, some mess or bit of shell or something?

My room's not the neatest thing in the world, but it's cleaner than any of my friends rooms. I do my chores to a certain extent, but it takes some nagging. I want to get a kitten and I know that I first have to show my parents that I'm responsible enough to take care of my own pet. However, my parents are a bit strict and hard to persuade. So anyone got any ideas on how I can get them to buy me a kitten and show them that I'm responsible enough?

some of yall might have seen my question yesterday, when my dog was having her babies. Well she gave birth to 4 beautiful little puppies, but the sad part is 2 of them died. Well my question is, is it safe to give my dog a bath, or is it little to soon for her to take baths right now, she's kind of a mess from yesterday.

This weekend, my husband and I went to our local SPCA. In the cat room, I noticed an obviously sick cat with thick green mucus coming from her nose. I told the kennel attendant who responded, "Oh yeah, she has an upper respiratory infection, but can't be out into quarantine for another two days."

I came to find out that the cat had already been sitting there for 5 days and must stay out in the general area for 2 more days because she was picked up as a stray and they want her to be seen if her family comes looking.

But, aren't upper respiratory infections contagious? By leaving her in the general cat population that included newborn kittens, wouldn't the SPCA be putting them at risk? Do you know of any shelters that have similar practices or any that differ? Personally, I believe there should be a better way to care for sick animals while still allowing them the chance to be found by their owners!

He was sadly neglected before I got him, and I have never had one before and would be grateful for any advice you can give.

He is in a cage with a running wheel, and he has a water bottle, a feeding bowl (i give him hamster food - is that ok?) and he has a little toilet too. I also put the cardboard tube from toilet roll in there, he seems to enjoy running through it. I change his bedding and sawdust and toilet once a week. Is that enough? I add a handful of food to his bowl each day, is that too much? And how often should I change his water?

I just want to look after him, and give him a happy life. Speaking of which, I understand mice live to about 2 years old. Is there a way of telling how old he is? He's not a tiny mouse??

Thank you
