You can if you want, just let the cat know and clean the old area. But if you anticipate problems adjusting to the new location, just move the litter box in increments.

I would say that if theres a reason to move it, esp if its going to cause him danger, then ya, go for it. Make sure the location is similar to where it once was though. If he went from doing his business in the basement where no one was to being put in the front hallway where theres tons of traffic and he feels everyone is watching him.... he may go back to the same spot where it was. Cats love routine. Even if you clean the area where it was with bleach and put something new there, if he doesn't like the new spot it doesn't matter what is there, he will go where he feels comfortable. Just make sure that when you do it you give him the heads up ;)

It's not a good idea to continually change locations. But for various reasons a box might need moved. One option would be to add the 2nd litter box to the new location for a few days and then remove the first box.

so long as it is still in a good location, easy to get to, and the cat can feel a bit of privacy if he/she prefers, you shouldn't have a problem as long as you make sure the cat knows the new location.
but if your cat doesn't like the new location, then you will be cleaning up pee and poop in other parts of your home.

I recently adopted a feral cat, so I kept him in the bathroom for the first couple of days. When he was ready to come out, I wanted to move his litter box to its permanent spot in the kitchen. I was really nervous that he'd have an accident, but I moved it to the kitchen without a problem! He adjusted to the move perfectly and has not had an accident once.
I don't recommend moving the box too often though! You don't want to confuse the kitty :)

I don't know. Will it be a better location for you? The cat will get used to it, wherever you change it to. He may complain, but he'll get over it.
Just show him the change, clean up the old location thoroughly and see what happens.

Without knowing where it is now, it is impossible to answer your question. Cats prefer to have things stay where they are used to them, but if the litter box is causing odors or some other problem, by all means, move it. Actually, you can try teaching your cat to use the toilet, then you won't have to worry about it.

it ought to have been one in each and every of a pair of issues. the two the cat container needed cleansing on the time or the poop clung to the cat's fur while he climbed out of the container and fell on the floor.

No because then it needs to get used to it again an it fells unwelcome. But if you really have to move it you should show that cat that you are moving it or it may get scared.

Yeah, put it right in your kitchen so you can smell it everytime you try to eat.. Duh....
First off no one can answer this question because we don't know where it is now, secondly cats stink..it's a known fact so if you want to keep a cat keep it clean and it wont matter where the litter box is.
