YES DO IT! If you don't all you will have is problems. You get them neutered at 6 months of age because this is when they first start to hit puberty. Once the do... all they want to do is breed and for males they will start to spray (esp. if you have other cats) and will try their best to go outside, fight with other males, and to knock up as many females as possible. Trust me it's a nightmare. Also if you don't neuter your cat there are risks that they could get testicular cancer. On the other hand big reasons why you wouldn't want to is because they will get fat (if you feed him properly there shouldn't be a worry) and the chance of him getting crystals in his urine (again if hes fed a good quality diet such as Iams/Science Diet/Hills/Medi-cal you shouldn't have that problem.)

I fixed my 3 cats at the same time, A, 3 month old female, 6 month old male and a 2 old female. the 3 month old appeared to have gone through less trauma and healed much quicker .

I am getting my kitty fixed at 5 months. The vet said sooner was better, but I couldn't leave her overnight before 5 months. She is too little. Our appointment is next week.
Just make an appointment with a vet.

You MUST get him fixed! The normal age is about 6 months. I'm telling you, he will spray all over your place and you can't get that smell out.

He should be about 6 months old when you do it, and YES, you should do it, otherwise he may start spraying your house. My old cat used to spray all of my clean laundry the second I put it down to fold...

At the Humane Society, I believe they do that at 6 weeks old.

You shold get your cat neutered at about six months old. Neutering your cat is going to prevent quite a lot of problems in the future. (Behavioral issues, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer just to name a few)

By 6 months it can be done. It will help against spraying and aggression.
