Allot of people deal with this. My family also has to play second best to my dogs. Animals seem to be just less demanding and hurtful than people so we just love them differently. Not necessarily more.

ha ha ha my mom and dad both do the same thing... sometimes pampering the cats more then each other!!
lucky cat to have someone that pampers him so much!! if you really feel like an outsider that he talks too, then you need to have a serious chat with him and tell him that you would like some of the same kind of attention yourself.
also, try and get closer to the cat yourself so you can all feel like family.

Many men have a hard time displaying affectionate feelings to other humans. However, animals provide an outlet for the feelings he may have been taught were "not manly" to have. Be thankful for the cat. You're being shown what a great father he could be.

I adore my husband too, but I may dote on the cat too much too. My husband says I don't pamper him as much as I used to, but I still love him sooo much. I make my husband lunch every morning before work and I cook dinner. I just don't talk as much to him maybe after work. But he watches TV anyway.
We love our pets, but we also love our Significant others. Don't worry, but make sure you get what you need from him to.

You shouldn't feel that way. The love he has for his cat is like a person who loves their baby.
It's a different kind of love. MANY people act like he does with their dog or cat. He loves you. Just in a different way.
I would stay with him.
