My dog and a neighbors dog got into another neighbor's field of goats. They started chasing them and eventually killed one, but didn't eat it. They just left after that. Now I'm terrified he'll try it again. We have a large fenced in yard (chain link) but he will dig, and dig til' he escapes. For now, he is in the house and we keep in on a runner outside.
Do Labs normally chase down other animals, just for the kill. Or do you think the 2 dogs were acting as a pack?

Well, this morning I got a phone call from my kids telling me that my dog had bloody diarrhea. So, instead of running right home and jumping on YA, I called the vet. I waited, waited while my poor dog suffered and soooo many qualified people were right here on YA waiting to tell me what to do, until noon when I could get him into the vet! Shame on me!!! Then, once I got him there, I actually could AFFORD the bill and TOOK the vet's advice!

Please tell me how I can over come this? Why was I so stupid, not to turn to YA instead of a qualified vet? What was I thinking???

We will take a long, transatlantic flight from Europe to the USA so metal detectors are an issue. The cats will be on board: one is more nervous than the other. We have read about "Feliway" and "Rescue Remedy" as good, natural calming remedies. We plan to start getting the cats used to getting in the carrier and going for short drives in the car as they will have to go to the airport. Any tips or advice are appreciated! BFG

Does it mean they are hard to handle and stubborn? Or does it simply mean they need firm training?

We have a chihuahua daschund that is 8 years old. We potty trained him and he would sneak in a squirt in the house here and there but lately he's gotten worse. We have tried getting him a diaper, but he manages to slip out of it. We've also put him in a kennel during the day and he will do it at night. I got home today and he peed on the blanket on the couch. Our family is getting to the point where we want to get rid of him but we don't have the hearts to do it. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a 30 gallon tank that has a live plant and various decorations in it. In the tank, I now have 4 angelfish, 3 sm. cory cats, and a gourami. I had 2 eels, 2 loaches, and 2 other cory cats, but all died when I treated for Ich.

I have an Ich medicine that the local pet store recommended when one of my cory cats got white fuzzballs on its fins and followed the directions I was given. The first infected cory died with all the others when I put the meds in the tank, but now another cory cat is infected, and I'm scared to put more meds in. I have had my angelfish for 2+ years and do not want to kill them!

Is there anything I can do to cure the Ich without putting more blue medicine into the tank??

I am a proud loving single owner of a 2.5 year old boy cat. He is not neutered or de-clawed (I consider both to be hurtful to the animal), exclusively indoor cat with lots of toys and attention given to him. Last friday I came home around 11: he ran towards the door to greet me, as per our normal routine, meowed to say hello and lay down for me to pet him.....and when I reached down to touch his head he lunged at my arm digging in all claws and teeth .... The whole incident lasted no more then 20 seconds, but I am hurt pretty bad (actualy chunks of flesh missing from my wrist) and utterly confused about his reasons for acting this way. Normally, he is a very loving, very very affectionate cat. I am pretty shaken up by the incident and have not been able to be in the same room as the cat since this happened.
What rational reasons would a family pet have to behave this way?
What is an appropriate punishment for this behavior? How do I correct this situation so it will not happen again?

my cat is weird. She eats steak, chilli, ramen noodles, apple cider, and quite a bit of other stuff. What weird things does your cat eat? what are cats absolutely not supposed to have?
