Puppies often chew destructively at the walls because they're bored. Making sure your pup has plenty of toys to keep it occupied and plenty of exercise will help to curb this tendancy.

Confining the pup to a crate when you're not home, with lots of toys and the radio or TV going will eliminate this behavior while you're out.

Some pups eat the plaster off the walls, too, because they're missing trace minerals from their diet that their brain tells them they may be able to find in the plaster. A more nurtrition-rich diet will eliminate this problem.

Have you tried white vinegar or tabasco? The tastes are very different from the bitter sprays and can sometimes stop aggressive chewers. Just put a little on a paper towel and wipe the parts of the wall that he is chewing. Make sure not to gob it on!

Of course, also make sure you are giving plenty of play things and are feeding proper dog food. If the pup is bored, a Kong filled with peanut butter and then frozen can often entertain for hours!

If he's chewing when you are not around, you may want to consider crate training. It will help keep him confined and out of trouble when you're not there to watch him and will also help with house training!

Good luck!

When you catch him chewing the walls, give him a firm NO! and give him something appropriate to chew on. Make sure he is crated or otherwise confined when you are not there to watch him. young puppies are like children, they need to be watched pretty much all the time. make sure he has lots of available chews toys etc. keep him on a leash while you are home so you can keep him near you in the house until you are sure he has stopped the wall chewing. good luck!

Puppies need alot of exercise make sure you walk him alot. I have a 2 year old cane corso and when we leave the house she "goes to bed" which is a crate with her cushy pillow and her favorite stuffed red bone. This way she is unable to destroy our home out of bordom when we are away. If these suggestions fail contact the dog wisperer Ceasar Milan, He has helped us to understand our dog and give her the things she needs to be happy and mentally stable.

keep him in a kennel when your not home. Also - my dog liked to eat the legs of my greatgrandmother's rocking chair, which I quickly covered with chili powder....he never chewed it again!

try cayenne pepper powder. we put that on our window seal when our puppy was chewing and it stopped him. you can get it at any store with the seasonings.
