Lucky you to only have one doing it. Try it with 3. They sound like a herd of horses and never seem to tire of it. Here it is a 2 or 3 times a day and then they just sort of collapse like they are exhausted.

I compare it to children who all of a sudden have a spurt of energy and take off running. I just take care and stay out of the way when it happens and make sure that my feet are covered if I have to be in the line of motion.

My cat goes absolutely bonkers too!, generally speaking, Cats love being outdoors and if they are indoors for an extended period, the dash about burning up their excess energy. It is also said that cats dash about a lot if bad weather is on the way.

It is a quite normal behaviour! Cats need to release their energy a list once a day and that is the way they do it. If, by that time you start to play with him, he'll be the happiest cat in the world.
Don't forget it's a sign of mental health to be happy for a cat!

My cat used to do this only at dusk but now she does it several times a day in our new apartment...she runs full tilt from one end of the house to the other. It cracks me up, 'cause she looks and sounds like a tiny horse. She hasn't quite mastered the art of putting on the brakes, though....lol.

they get a wild hair in them(not a literal hair.....). Haven't you ever just felt restless, and ran for no reason? Mine hide alot because of my dogs, but at night when the dogs are in their crates for the night, my cats go crazy, they race each other and their favorite game is to see who can jump on top of the toilet and into the bathtub first. They sleep for like 20 hours, so to make up for all that, they go insane in short bursts.

My cat used to do it. But now he is ageing he has slowed down. When inside now like to play with my sons toys when he is not there. personally I miss those times I found the smallest thing would make him jump through the air or watching him swinging off the curtain poles quite funny then. Now he saves his energy for catching birds and butterflies.

My cat does the same thing! She acts like she is crazy and runs back and forth, springs up into the air and makes little purring noises. I think this is just to entertain themselves or get their pent up energy out.

i know you you are probably a bit shocked by some of the answers you have received but it is true.cats do see other things.and i wouldn't worry.if she is happy and you are not bothered about it then fine.but sometimes it can be disturbing for you to know this .so i would say take her mind of it and get some cat toys.it might work..

my cat does that too.
did u kno that cats can see things that we can't?
sometimes they can see ghosts (meaning spirits and whatnot).
so, perhaps, someone u used to kno (or that ur cat knew lol) comes and visits at the same time everyday and ur cat just flips. i dont quite kno. but yea, my cat just sprints across the house and jumps on every piece of furniture and goes wild. hmmm..good question tho.
