I'm in the process of persuading my parents to get me a kitten. I'd like to have a little insight on which breed would be the best one to buy just in case they agree. I want a kitten that doesn't shed a lot, can stay inside the house, able to groom itself, cute, and something that strict parents would approve of. Thanks! Please attach a website if you know of one for kitten care, the breeds, and other stuff like that.

definately get a kitten from a shelter ...you'll find all kinds of different "breeds" and it costs next to nothing (which by the way might be a good selling point for your folks)...as for breeds i really wouldn't recommend one over the other....i would recommend a short haired cat so as to keep grooming routines to a minimum....overall cats are very low maintenence critters...but they still require lots of care...(daily food and water changes, daily litter box scooping, regular brushing, toys, etc...) ....as for not shedding alot, all cats shed-but if you brush them daily it's very minimal....
here's some "arguments" to help build your case:
having a pet helps you to become responsible....
pets help you to be compassionate...
and if the cat is kept indoors veterinary upkeep is very minimal (you just keep up on shots), cuz she won't be exposed to diseases and will be less likely to be injured

good luck!

The very best thing is to adopt a kitten from an animal shelter. You'll be saving a life and it will be able to do all the same things you've listed that a purebred would do. And it would cost a lot less.

I got my cat from the humane society when he was a kitten. It cost $100, which included all of his shots, neutering, and food. You could get a free kitten from an ad in the paper, but the shots and neutering is going to cost about $300-500.

Any kitten you would want to get! imagine about lengthy haired cats vs short hair. both shed, yet short hair cats must be plenty more suitable on hypersensitive reactions. good success, the element to do is bypass to a human society and ask to play with some kitties.

You should adopt a kitten (or even a cat) from a local animal shelter.
