yes they do cry. they also whine and whimper. have you ever heard a dogs low sad howl, or cats little meow. its their way of showing sadness and sorrow.

Mammals express sorrow in many ways. However, other than with human mammals, tears are not shed due to emotional factors. Humans are also animals.
