I'd like to administer my own vaccines and medications for my pets. I have a lot of animals and they all need visits to the vet but I have too many animals really to run them back and forth. It would be much easier to just do it all myself. I know where to buy the medications and such I just would like some more information or websites that may help guide me in this process.

Many medications require a vet prescription, which still requires a vet visit. Also, in most all states, the rabies vaccine must be given by a vet. Office visit or trip to a clinic required.
Buying your own vaccines is very risky. You cannot guarantee that they were shipped correctly and they effectivness if the vaccines can be in question.
Also, most vaccines of any kind done yourself may not be seen as actual proof of them being given without a vet record.
Get ALL info before starting this. It can cause a lot of problems down the road.

And remember, the distemper combo vaccine does not have to be given every year!!!!

If you are adament about not taking them to the vet, buy your vaccines from the vet. Most will sell them over the counter and at least this way you know that the vaccines are handled properly. We had a lot of dogs come in with Parvo that had been vaccinated from the local mill where the vaccines were not properly refrigerated. Also, at least in Oklahoma, you have to have Rabies shot given by a licensed vet or the wont accept it. Also before you just stop giving certain vaccines you need ot check with the state or city laws about what vaccines need to be given when. I know some counties say rabies needs to be given every three years but your town may require it every year and you could get in trouble if not given yearly as required. Same goes for distemper parvo shots. Also it depends on the vaccine. Some Rabies shots only last a year while others last for three so if you dont know how long the vaccine you give lasts I would do it yearly to be safe. if you have anymore questions email me. Good luck.

there's a shot that your vet can supply her stated as Ovaban. it variety of feels to artwork properly and it extremely is not extremely high priced. It truly keeps the canine from ovulating, as a effect combating her from transforming into pregnant. If she has already bred there's a shot stated as MisMate which will abort the clutter. The MisMate could reason uterine an infection, so she could desire to be positioned on an antibiotic if she gets it, yet I even have on no account heard of any problems with the Ovaban. The doggie panties and covers for the two woman and male canine won't save the canine from getting pregnant. All they are going to do is save the mess to a minimum.

Try a mobile vet that comes to your home. Most medications are only available to vets.
