My family's dog is blinking abnormally; one eye blinks before the other one does. Is this a cause for alarm, or just an interesting quark?

I need to know because I've been begging my mom to try and get her bred for awhile now, but she wants me to see if she's still young enough. And how much longer until she can't have puppies anymore?

I am considering getting some betta fish. I already have a tank with a filter-system; is this okay to use with betta? When I had goldfish, they often got stuck to the pipe and died. Also, can betta be healthy without being fed worms? What kinds of betta do you suggest for a beginner?

Would you consider breeding Chinese Dwarf Hamsters hard, and any tips?

I've read a few of the q/a's on here and they all seem to say that the cages aren't big enough, or that the hamster isn't getting enough run time in the ball. Well my hamsters cage is on 3 floors - has 2 flights of stars, metal bars AND tubes. Not to mention a wide selection of things to do - a wheel which works, a cereal bar, a house, a grass house, wooden gnaws etc etc. Furthermore my hamster gets approximately 3 hours a night in his ball.. where he gets free reign of the bottom floor of my house. I was just wondering if there is anything more I can do. He is only a baby, I'm a bit concerned that he may be too young to be apart from his mother (he wasn't on display in the pet shop, and was in the back with a litter of others who were all tinier than most I've seen). Please advise, I used to breed hamsters and this is far more excessive than I've ever witnessed before.

Thank you for your time x

I know I'm asking a lot of questions on here about my puppy, but I'm just trying to adapt to him and learn his ways and all, I've never had an inside dog before so. But what I noticed is, he always pees on either carpet or some sort of fabric. I've been training him to the blue pads, and whenever he is let out of his room(laundry room, which is tiled), he's fine, but when he uses the potty it's always on the carpet or a blanket or something simliar, so I was thinking maybe he thinks because he can go on the pad, that means anything "padded''?

I like big dogs, and i'm not really positive why. I just think they are cuter and more fun. I like playing with them and being able to wrap my arms around them. I like small dogs too, but i would never want one. Do you like big dogs better, or small dogs better? Why?

He waits for me behind the corner, jumps and bites my legs. He never did that before. He started doing it last week and it looks like that's the only thing he thinks about. What should I do to stop him?

My roommate and I just met this guy who is going to africa. He has two yorkie puppies, they are small dogs of course, but he wants us to have them. He says that if we don't take them he is going to put them down, and I don't want them to die, do you think its cruel to have puppies in an apartment? Its a rather large apartment.

Well research has shown that this is how much it could cost you to have a dog in its first year!! you have vet bills, vaccinations, spaying nuetering not to mention these little or big accidents that could happen.
Diahorrea, broken bones, foriegn bodies in mouth or stomach to be removed. Sore ears, cuts, mites, fleas, heartworm prevention, stung by something, snake bites.

AND so the list goes on.

So if you want to be a responsible pet owner then be responsible and ask yourself, can i afford it??????
Be realistic, Love alone is not enough for animals they need care and responsibilties, NOW that is really loving your animal.

PLEASE be honest and think about it for the most part it can be a 20 year committment.

I got a 7 month old puppy from the pound about 3 months ago. When I got him, they said he was completely house trained. When I got him home, he pooed on the florr and peed. I thought that he was just getting used to his new environment, and that he would stop doing that. He was scolded, and then taken outside. The problem is, he still does it. I've set out a schedule for him, and he's taken outside regularly. he's outside for atleast an hour after he's eaten, but it's like he holds it untill he gets inside the house. I don't know what to do. Please help!
He's also been to the vet, so I know it's no problem there.

I'm doing a report on setting up a fish aquarium.

Do you have to cycle freshwater tanks AND saltwater tanks?
Is the process the same for both instances?

thanks =)

Some horses I have ridden are a little bit too forward and get fussy when you pull on the reins, especially when you want them to stop or stand still for a moment. Do you have any tips on handling this and tips on smoothing transitions so the horse doesn't jump into a canter or trot?
