I've only just begun breeding Chinese hamsters. I am just housing the male and female together with lots of hiding places. I have a friend that has had several litters from a few pairs and she does the same thing with no problems.

Put them in the cage together and let nature take its course. Now if she attacks him, take him out and try again later. Dwarfs are one breed that the males will help care for the babies. Also you can leave the pair together after babies are born if you plan for them to have more babies. Take him out afterwards if you want no more babies. Just be sure and separate your male/female babies between 5/6 weeks or you'll have more hamsters then you ever wanted. Check out the site listed below on breeding and raising the babies.

I bred hamsters for awhile.
First thing... make sure there's a market for the babies. Talk to local pet stores and see if they'll buy them regularly. Find out how much they'll pay. Have a few lined up in case the first one doesn't need any when the babies are ready.
Second... if you decide to breed, you have to remember to ALWAYS put the female in the males cage, not vice versa. If you put the male in the females cage, she might kill him... especially if it turns out she's not in heat. When you put them together, watch them close. If she's not in heat, she'll start fighting with him and you'll have to remove her. Once they start "going at it" you can leave them alone, but stay within earshot, cuz when she's had enough, she might get cranky again. It sounds funny... but I found a way to tell if they're in heat. Take a cooked spaghetti noodle and drag it around on her lower back. If she's in heat, something about the way it sticks to and pulls her hair must mimic the males' actions, cuz my hamsters would always "assume the position" when I did it, as long as they were in heat. If they weren't... they just liked to eat the noodle. :) Seriously. It's funny, but true.

First, what species of hamster are you attempting to reproduce? you will desire to do study particular to the species you choose (Syrian, Dwarf Campbell, Dwarf wintry climate White, chinese language Dwarf or Roborovski Dwarf). then you definately will could desire to be sure what you will do with the offspring you produce. some species or particular colours are no longer familiar especially aspects or communities. After that, you will could desire to preserve all your kit (water bottles, and so on), feed source, cages (you will want a minimum of four or greater), and choose the terrific animals you will come across, that could desire to be from unrelated family members lines. Cages are significant, on account that whilst hamster are no longer snoozing, eating or making greater hamsters, they're attempting to discover a fashion out of the cage (this contains chewing and working on a wheel) if your breeding inventory isn't of acceptable age, and till they have been given acceptable foodstuff for the long-term, you're transforming into problems. no longer all hamsters consume their youthful, or kill one yet another. returned, sturdy study is significant. finally, WHY do you what to reproduce? do no longer answer me, I merely want you to truly think of approximately this one for your self. If some one is merely breeding hamsters to make greater hamsters, then do no longer. If a man or woman merely throws some hamsters jointly in a closet to have them make greater hamsters they are not a breeder, they're merely a multiplier. genuine breeders have set standards and objectives, and carry themselves to an somewhat severe degree of ethics. We artwork to maintain and advance the lines and standards we are engaged on. Culling and re-adjusting the bar is significant, as properly as demanding assessment of the effect of a breeding application. supply this a real and truthful attention till now breeding hamsters, or any style of animal. Please email me privately in case you like greater information. I on no account desire to end somebody from practising being a real and truthful breeder, yet I additionally experience people who merely desire to multiply have not any room interior the puppy activity. do you recognize the thank you to finally end up with $2 hundred money from raising hamsters?!?!?!? start up out with $500!~
