My cat cries in pain when I pick her up. She doesn't sound upset, just in pain. She is 11 years old.

I am looking at getting a boxer. My husband's family owns five boxers and all but one are males. It seems that the female boxer is much more calm, and loveable. The males are very affectionate also, but more energetic. The female is fairly young under two is this a female boxer trait or just an individual trait? She will play and run after a ball in the backyard, but seems more refined and has the run of the house while owner is at work and sleeps on the couch the whole time! Any boxer experiences would be great, and I know they are great with kids these are wonderful with my 19 m/o daughter.

I have just bought a new pleco about 3 hours ago, he looked fine in the pet shop. But ever since I put in the tank all he does is float about in a vertical position. He sucked on the glass for a few minutes and then 'fell' off. He is about 5 inches long and looks healthy. What can I do?

I never knew raisins are bad for dogs! Who says and why??? I personally hate raisins, but whenever I eat trail mix I have always given my dogs the raisins. I have yet to notice any bad reaction. Have I just been lucky so far or what? Have a nice day!

The most clever name I have seen was a three legged dog that was named Tripod. I want to see if anyone has heard of anything that is wittier or as clever as this?

I thought that if I got a couple of small dogs, they would keep themselves company, (pack style) while I was away. And if they were really little, they could even use a litter tray.
Why should owning dogs be the reserve of people who don't work, or have the luxury of working from home?

I have 2 Cocker Spaniels and they are always howling. It is not at any specific time. I have read that it could mean they are bored. I pet them, give them toys do everything I can to give them attention and they still do it. Once once starts the other one does it too!

During the winter, feeding the little song birds, a family of 3 bunnies and a possum is so enjoyable here in Wisconsin. BUT we have a merlin hawk taking advantage of our generosity, like we are feeding/baiting them for his killing convienence. He has killed one of our cats and attacked 2 others, many little birds and bunnies have fallen victim to this lazy killer. It has swooped at my husband in the driveway and at that point, signed it's death warrant! I have called the DNR, they are protected, to a point. I have put out plastic owls and rotate them periodically, shiny things array the yard, whenever we get sunshine, they sparkle. It is full blown winter here and food is scarce for the birds who are use to feeding at our feeders~now and all year long. I can not just stop feeding them. I have bought a pellet gun and would love to blow that killer away but, by the time I spot him, open the door and take aim from the hip....he is airborn. What else can I do?It is a daily event.

I usually take my dog to the Humane Society for her yearly shots and check ups. I know I can make a call and ask about the fees and etc but I like to hear from you. How much does it cost for shots and stuff? Which one do you prefer to take your pet to?

I knew when I made the decision to make my 40 gallon into a cichlid tank , that they would take over. They took on sharks 4 times their size , tiger oscars were no match. I don't mean to come off as sounding cruel , although I know I just did. But I like the cichlid tank. Nothing has colors like those Malawi cichlids.

My husband and I are planning on purchasing a Bullmastiff. We have 3 children, ages 3,4 & 13. We did a little research and what we read about this breed seems to be what we want in a dog. We had to give a Rottweiler to a rescue because of aggressive behavior towards us and the kids. I ordered him from a breeder from out of state and it was a big mistake. It was our second pup from him, the first pup died from parvo and this one was very aggressive. A lot of people tell us to get a Lab or Golden Retriever, but my husband has his heart set on a Bullmastiff. The information on them seems that they are a good dog with children, but then other people think we're crazy for wanting this kind of dog. I know any dog you really have to watch with children, but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with aggression with these type of dogs?

I am debating between a few different breeds. One is the Yorkie Terrier, Shih Tzu, Japanese Chin, Chihauha, Pomeranian, and Dachshaund. Which breed would be the best for apartment living, is friendly, doesn't yap (or bark) at any/everything (all dogs will bark I know this). I just worry about it disturbing my neighbors when I'm gone and it barking all day. Please advise.

my 3 yr old cat is perfectly heallty and always has been, however money is knida tight right now and i just got the paper from the vet that he is due for his annual check up, i am totally crazy about my cat, no kiddos, just my kitty, anyhow, i know vets need to make money too, but i am wondering how bad it could be if i just skip his annual for now, he has always had all his shots etc, and is totally an insid cat, is there anything that could harm him by not getting more shots, vaccinations since i have been taking him, or maybe just mabye i will be ok on skipping this check up.....

Just the usual in my house, something runs out and they do not let someone know or write on the list. Today upon the morning rush, go to feed dog and not one kibble or bit in the dog food bin. Until I can get dog food later today, either he gets the cats food or nothing till later. Thanks
