Whoever I could get to first. I would definitely save a child before my cats even though I love them with all my heart. I would feel guilty and very sad about whoever I left behind if I couldn't save both.

I will save first the cat and after that the human. I know it's not normal, a human life is very important and I think I will be forever impressed by the simple fact that I could save him, but I didn't... (theoretically). But I can be almost sure that it was his fault , he was probably unmindful. Anyway, I love cats more than anything else... They just don't do so many bad things like people do...
I hope I will not be in the same situation.....:(:(:( :-S

I would def try to get both out. But I have a major issue with you people that say - without question - you would save the cat first? So there is someone unconscious and you say fend for yourself? That is just sick. I pray for you lost souls. That is discusting. Toss the cat out a window or something...I'm not saying throw it in fire. BUT common people. How can you really feel that way? We are talking about a human. I hope none of you are ever involved in a fire, and moreso hope that none of you are trapped and the people that are around to help you don't have a cat.

First....you wouldn't catch me running into a burning building to save either one.
Second.....if on my way out of a burning building I would save the human.
Third....if that human was stuck or was larger than myself (unable to carry that person out) I'd save my cat. And tell the fire folks were that stuck or large person was in the burning building.

I'd save the cat. The human has a better chance of thinking for himself and getting out.

I would save the cat and human! But, definitely the cat first otherwise he would be traumatized! Humans can withstand more even though cats are said to have nine lives.

The cat I love. That's like asking if you'd save a stranger or your child from a burning building. My pets are my "children."
