I was going to breed, being sensible i decided to ask the vet to do any health checks needed and was told i would have to ask the Kennel Club's permission first. Why?

We just moved into a brand new house and there is pretty much no grass growing yet. We have red clay here, and every time I let my dog out he tracks it in all over the brand new carpet. I spend several minutes each time he comes in trying to clean his feet with an old towel, but he still leaves faint paw prints on the carpet almost every time. I'm 6 months pregnant so scrubbing the carpet on my hands and knees several times a day is getting old fast. Any ideas?

I had my brother take my dog to the vet today (i work over an hour away from the vet) to get her yearly shots and to "troubleshoot" some issues I've seen come up. She is urinating more frequently and doesn't seem to be able to hold it as well as she used to when i was at work. She is also pooping more inside, where she used to be able to hold that at leaest till she went out. And she is pooping a slight bit more now. When I walk her she immediately pees, walks another minute, pees again, etc. Like she always has to pee. AND she appears very weak at some points, I also think she has arthritis in her legs.

She is getting tested now to see what may be the issue(s).

Any suggestions?

My daughter got her a puppy last March (part lab and shepherd). Where I live there are leash laws. Because we haven't got a fenced in yard, we have made her a house dog. In the mornings, we put her out on a chain to do her business, then before we leave the house we bring her back inside. We walk her in the evening. So for the most part she stays inside.
Back in August or September, she went into heat.
Now, behind my house over the next block lives the dog catcher. But a few houses down from him is another family with another dog that is ALWAYS running free around the town. We had chased the dog off many times. But somehow...
In November, my daughters puppy, that wasn't even a year old, had 8 puppies. Between 4 kids and 10 dogs, I am at my wits end.
I have been trying to give them away but no one wants them.
I have since had the dog fixed to avoid any future liters.
Is it wrong for me to make the owners of the "free roaming" dog to take at least half the litter?

im not sure wich kind of cichlid it was, but i know it was african. i found him dead last night and it looks like there are little indentations around his head. ive had lateral line disease before and it is definantly not that. it looks like it could be scales pulled from the roots, but im leaning away from this. it didnt look bloated, and it was slightly chubby(as are all my cichlids) and ive had it for 3 months. it was in a tank with 13 other cichlids and 4 catfish and 4 plecos

I have a Bichon Frise and they are notoriously difficult to potty train. He's almost finished with his puppy shots and since he continues to go in the house, EVERYWHERE HE CAN, even though I'm "crate training" him, I want to try taking him outside everytime instead of to his "spot" indoors because it just seems not to be working. After his shots are complete, I'd like to begin trying to take him outside. Do you have any ideas on what I can do to help him learn where the correct "spot" is??? I give him plenty of praise when he goes inside where he's supposed to but then about 30 minutes later, he's peeing somewhere else in the house again.

My husband thinks I should give him a good slap with a newspaper everytime he has an accident, but I find that rather cruel. Plus, he's only going to be 16 weeks old, he's just a baby (smile).

. . . . . . SOMEONE HELP - PLEASE!!!!

I have a 3 year old male cat. and 2 dogs. They all get along fine. I just got a new cat she is not a year yet until march. They play and get along fine but my older cat tries to bite the younger one. The older cat does not have any front claws where the younger cat does. Does this have anything to do with the bitting. They have both been fixed. Other then the older cat trying to bite the younger one they get along fine. I hope someone has an answer for me as to what might be making the older cat bite the younger one and to make him stop. I dont think he is doing it hard but I just dont want the younger one not to get hurt.

My elderly (12) female cat has lately been refusing to use the litterbox. She was seen by a vet about 3 months ago and he could not identify any urinary-tract problem. But she's still peeing in inappropriate places (such as on top of the dining-room table!) and it's really becoming a problem.

The litterboxes (we have 2 cats) are kept very clean, and we have not changed brands of cat litter. And nothing has occurred in our household recently, such as the introduction of a new cat, emotional upheaval, or other big change in routine, to explain this change in behavior.

I am not a person that would ever, EVER get rid of my cat over something like this, but I need some ideas about what might be going on and what I might do about it. It's becoming a problem to live with. If you've been in a similar situation and found something that worked, I would really appreciate hearing from you! Thanks so much.

I am very puzzled as to what it is. my old rabbit had abscess' with pus and everything but this is definatly not the same thing. it is on one side of his lip and is bright red and raw. it has scabbed many times and then fallen off back to the raw lip. it looks lumpy and he seems like hes in a lot of pain. he has just started biting me like crazy not my skin though only my clothes and he does not want me to touch it. i'm not sure if i should treat it with polysporne or bring him to the vet. i'm not sure now because he has started biting and i assume its the cause of pain. hes still eating like a pig and loves kisses on the head! i'm wondering if maybe its because he does bite the bars once in awhile. i work at a petstore and that is where i bought him from and he was fine when i bought him. if anyone knows what it may be help me out! i feel bad for the bitting bugger!

I am planning on buying a used aquariums - dimensions are, 4 FT long, 1 FT deep, 16 Inches tall. How big is this tank? The guy labels it at 55 gallons, but i'm almost positive it isn't. AND, he has a fluval 302 filter with it, is this an internal filter ( put inside the tank) or is it an external filter ( underneat or outside ) and is this the right size for this tank size, thanks.

I got the kitten from the Humane Society. The vet says it is in good health, and he did not mention a respiratory infection.
