We just moved into a brand new house and there is pretty much no grass growing yet. We have red clay here, and every time I let my dog out he tracks it in all over the brand new carpet. I spend several minutes each time he comes in trying to clean his feet with an old towel, but he still leaves faint paw prints on the carpet almost every time. I'm 6 months pregnant so scrubbing the carpet on my hands and knees several times a day is getting old fast. Any ideas?

i agree with the suggestion of bath wipes, except you could probably save money and just buy regular baby wipes. they're safe for dogs! plus you'll need to have them on hand for the new baby (congrats!). they will probably do a better job of cleaning the feet than a towel. hope this helps!

Keep a bucket of water or a hose outside the door you use to take him in and out. Then, whenever he's about to come inside with dirty feet, dunk his paws in the water or give them a good hose-off, followed by careful drying.

You could also buy or knit booties and make him wear them whenever he goes out, but it's risky. Another solution is to buy a small upright wetvac to use on the carpet when he does track stuff in, just so you don't have to keep getting down on your hands and knees all the time. Good luck!

There are some booties that you can put on your dogs feet just like shoes. All you have to do is slip them off when he comes in the door and no mud or dirt will follow. you can use these any time of the year. they help with leaves , mud, stickers, and much more. I use them on my Lab. You can find them at petedge.com and order them. this is a neat place to but dog/cat items I use this company for my dog grooming shop

you may both positioned booties on them, or % up the door once you may't supervise them. you may bypass outdoors with them for a couple of minutes or maybe as they are waiting to bypass lower back in, attempt cleansing their paws. there's no longer a lot you may do. perchance you may prepare them to wipe their paws on the rug. It easily works, yet you want to be a company, consistent coach. you may also shovel up the realm the position they in many cases bypass to, or block the elements the position there is dirt. good success!

as soon as you let him inside the house, grab the dog and take it to the sink/bathtub and wash off only its feet.
