I am very puzzled as to what it is. my old rabbit had abscess' with pus and everything but this is definatly not the same thing. it is on one side of his lip and is bright red and raw. it has scabbed many times and then fallen off back to the raw lip. it looks lumpy and he seems like hes in a lot of pain. he has just started biting me like crazy not my skin though only my clothes and he does not want me to touch it. i'm not sure if i should treat it with polysporne or bring him to the vet. i'm not sure now because he has started biting and i assume its the cause of pain. hes still eating like a pig and loves kisses on the head! i'm wondering if maybe its because he does bite the bars once in awhile. i work at a petstore and that is where i bought him from and he was fine when i bought him. if anyone knows what it may be help me out! i feel bad for the bitting bugger!

The lumps could be many thing they could be due to old age, it possible it could be cancer lumps of some sort, or a reoccuring infection. I would take hime to your vet to be sure what they are.

He needs to get to a vet if just for pain meds. If you were in that much pain wouldn't you want some help? He might have a deep abcess instead of a superficial one. http://www.rabbit.org

The poor guy! Take him to the vet for evaluation and pain meds. You'll be glad you did that for him.

What ever you do, make sure he sees a vet first.
