I live in an apt. so my dog has to be quiet.. and rather small I was considering a shiba inu but im not too familiar with the breed I had a toy poodle in my apt and that was the loudest dog I've ever had what is a great breed to have in an apt. oh and i dislike cats...

( most people try to suggest getting a kitten )

whichever breed I choose will be a rescued dog so price really isnt a concern for me!

I have a Tropical fish tank with some neons, a pepered cat fish and two guppies. One of my guppies is actting strangely. He's hunched over so his head is gown near his tail and is breathing heavily. The other one is fine. I want to save him so nif anyone can help me it would be much appreciated.

She gave birth to 2 cubs. She seems to be caring for them very well. Doesn't seem like she is gonna eat them as many people have told me hamsters do.

They both are togehter for a while now. The female preens the male, but the male never preens the female. He is a little aggressive. if the female wants to get preened, he pecks at her. Today the female layed an egg. I dont know if its fertile or not. I have heard chirping noises once before. But i dont know if they have really mated. How do i stop the male being aggressive?
I have another pair which is set right beside their cage. Do you think this is the problem?

I have a small pond outside of my house with fish in it. It has a pump in it that adds oxygen into the water for the fish. One night, I left the pump off and came back in the morning and found 1 fish dead and another fish who looked dead but when I turned on the pump, it started moving again. I examined the fish and it was bloated. I left home and when I came back, the fish was fine. I have no idea what happened to it...I dont even know what I should ask!

I need a lot of information on Daschunds! How much a month(about) would it cost. What are the vet bills like? (If I spelled the name wrong sorry, please don't comment on the name spelling) Are they a good little dog to choose? How many shots do they need? Just anything!!! I need a lot of info!

We just got a puppy about 2 weeks ago. She's a good, smart puppy but she is skitish. I figured she would be the first few days since we took her away from the other puppies and all but she doesn't seem to be changing. She'll play with us but when we call her to come to us or try to pick her up she freaks. Any advice would be great.

My daughter plays the clarinet. We have four dogs ( Great dane, Blk., Lab,and a Jack Russel, But only our Yelow Lab will "sing" along with her ; is it hurting the dogs ears , or is she "just singing along" ? she does not run and hide, But stands and wags her tail !!

Ive been here visiting my parents and staying in their house, i will be here for about another month, i was doing THEM the favor or staying here because i live out of state and they wanted me to come visit since i havent in so long, i brought my dog with me. i ask her repeatedly not to feed my dog table food and shes doing it anyways, i actually smelled my dogs breath yesterday and it smelled like garlic after she just got outta the kitchen, went in the kitchen and what do u know.. my mom is eating garlic croutons. some people might say o well its not bad, but its MY dog and i dont want her to have that and shes not respecting me. then tonite my mom said, " oh look, mica is jumping up on the chair and nudging me letting me know she wants something cuz she knows i feed her when jessica isnt looking" wtf? she said min before that that she doesnt feed my dog or she hasnt lately. and then right after saying that, asked if she can give my dog a scrap. im tired of it. what can i do?

I have a single long-finned leopard danio and over the past year or so I've added all kinds of fish--platies, cardinal tetras, guppies, etc. and the danio all. The only fish it hasn't killed is a catfish (presumably, because the catfish is considerably larger than it).

My latest edition is a rainbow shark and since I added him, the danio has returned to his all too familiar routine of biting fins. I fear it's only a matter of time before the shark passes away.

Any suggestions on fish that can live with danios, or shall I just return the bully to the local petstore (which would probably mean his )?

I have both and feel guilty sometimes!

Even though my bird flies free around the house in the day and is tame, I still feel sorry he's not in the wild. (I know he wouldnt survive out there!!)

My cat has been vomiting lately and today I found worms in her vomit. They're white. about 5in long and thin and flat. Anyone know what they could be? We also have 2 dogs, a bird and 2 children in the house, I'm concerned for all their health.

last night i think my cat jumped on something sharp or scraped his paw against something, and now there's a cut there n slightly thick yellowish pus is coming out. it isnt deep and the bleeding has stopped. he has a slight limp now because he doesnt want to put weight on the paw. instead of taking it to the doctor is there any way i cud treat his paw myself at home? or shud i take him to the doctor and get anti-biotics in case of infections?

he's still eating well n doesnt seem to have a temperature or look ill.
