Try researching online about the breed, or talking to different english mastiff breeders. Try going to dogbreedinfo.com or akc.org to find more information on them. But i work at a vet clinic, and from all the dogs i've met MOST of the english mastiffs have been wonderfully mellow and sweet. They love people, but in a mellow way. I have met one english mastiff that was not nice, but he was a product of his owners. His owners thought they were doing what was best for him, but they were WAY over protective of him, and nervous that he might bite someone, and he fed off of their negative energy, and tried to bite people. SO, just because they are such BIG dogs, it is best to play it safe and get them into obedience training, and make sure you can control such a big dog. But other than Baxter, i have only met sweet english mastiffs.

Hi, wow, they are Big dogs....The English Mastiff is the only one of its kind to be accredited by the AKC! From what I hear of their temperment, they are very loyal, they snore when asleep and are slightly scatterbrained but stubborn :) Sounds like tons of fun!
(my fav dog is the Gordon Setter very similar temperment but sillier) A mastiff will protect you and your family....my setter would love up an intruder and lick a burgler to death!!!

A little senile sometimes and they have to go outside frequently, but their accent rocks.

OK, it was a joke, sorry.
